    3. The mascarpone has no tang to it, nor do the ladyfingers have any acidity to them from the coffee they’re meant to have been steeped in, nor does the chocolate on top have any bitterness to it.
    4. Nothing except sugar is consumed on a continuous basis.
    5. Upon taking the second bite, my tastes were completely swept away.

    White Chocolate Raspberry Cheesecake ($7.29)

    1. How could this dessert possibly be locked in the 1990s any longer?
    2. From an objective standpoint, there’s nothing wrong with that: classics will always be good, but only if they’re prepared and served well.
    3. This cake, however, was not.
    4. Because the raspberry felt syrupy and fake, and because the white chocolate was double the amount of sugar it needed to be, I gave up.
    5. The end product was a tooth-achingly sugary cheesecake that lacked any acidity or contrast to balance it off.
    6. The fact that no one came back for a second mouthful says a lot.

    Zeppoli ($7.29)

    1. Deep-fried, sugar-coated dough is generally considered to be rather delicious.
    2. It’s nearly impossible to go wrong with a hearty serving of chocolate dipping sauce on the side.
    3. with the exception of when you do.
    4. The zeppoli, with their bread-like texture and firm, chewy bottoms, were the least appealing dessert of the lot.
    5. However, despite the fact that they were served hot, they tasted like they had been fried from frozen and were sitting under a heat lamp, waiting for some unsuspecting customer to order them.
    6. Don’t allow this happen to you.

    Zeppoli Dip

    Even the chocolate sauce turned out to be a disappointment. It was thin and lacked depth. It was watery and thin. There was virtually nothing that could be done to save these donuts.

    1. There was complete agreement among the four taste-testers that the black tie mousse cake was the best dessert.
