## Why do baking pans need to be the correct size when baking a cake?

- Make sure to use the pan specified in the recipe.
- It takes time and effort to calculate the yield of recipes, and altering the pan size also varies the baking temperature and time required.
- Using larger, shallower pans will use more heat; using smaller, deeper pans will use less heat.
- Also, bear in mind that most cakes are cooked on racks that are put over solid items (such as cookie sheets or bread pans) so that they may be moved around during the baking and chilling processes, which can be time-consuming.
- Pans that are 8 to 9 inches (20 to 23 cm) broad and 4 inches (10 cm) deep are typically used in bread recipes.

In big baking dishes, the crumbs will not spread as much, resulting in more crust and less liquid for your loaf.Smaller pans will result in a lighter texture with more air pockets than larger pans do.Cake recipes often call for pans with a diameter of 9 inches (23 cm).But if you’re willing to pay a few extra bucks, a 10-inch (25-cm) cake pan will provide you with an additional layer of cake.

- Due to the fact that pie plates are often only 2 inches (5 cm) in diameter, you should double or treble the amount of pie dough or filling to ensure that you have enough for your pie shell.
