Easy Harry Potter Cakes to Make at Home! – Brain Power Family

There are so many creative (and simple!) Harry Potter cake ideas to pick from that it was difficult to narrow them down to a few favorites. If you want to build a cake for a Harry Potter birthday party or just because there is nothing more enjoyable than reading through the Harry Potter series and enjoying some delicious cuisine to go along with it, you have come to the correct spot.Despite the fact that the first Harry Potter book was published in 1997, the series continues to be popular today.Wow, it was a lot longer ago than I had anticipated. The cakes shown below are easy to create, have beautiful patterns, and are all prepared from scratch, with many of the recipes supplied.

    1. Keep in mind that you may use the decorating ideas on any cake you like – whether it’s one you bought or one you prepared yourself – so long as you follow the guidelines.
    2. This post may include affiliate links, which means that if you make a purchase after clicking on one of the links, I may get a small commission at no additional cost to you.
    3. All of my thoughts are my own, and I only post items that I believe will be of interest to you and your loved ones.
    4. If you recall, Hagred presents Harry with a cake on his 11th birthday, both in the book and in the film adaptation.

″Got something fer yeh,’fraid I might have sat on it at some time, but I suppose it’ll taste OK all the same,″ he says.It is shown as a chocolate cake with green text in the book.According to the movie, the cake has pink frosting and green text, and the spelling is erroneous, as shown in the photo. In any case, it is a simple ornament to make, and sloppy writing is encouraged.Three hoops may be found at the end of the quidditch pitch. When you put those on top of a cake, you have a wonderful idea because they are quite simple to prepare while yet providing a pretty dang cool impression.

Add a golden snitch, and you’ve got yourself a winner on your hands!Hedwig will be instantly recognizable to lovers of the Harry Potter series. It takes little time at all to make this owl cake.As an alternative to using shredded coconut (which my family does not enjoy), you may pipe feathers onto the cake as shown.Another alternative is to just frost the cake and then ruff up the frosting by placing a knife down on it and pushing it up to create small peaks as shown in the photo.

The pipework is simple to complete.Don’t be concerned; you’ll be able to do this task.Everything, including the glasses and scar, is built using sugar melts on wax paper over a design, so all you have to do is fill in the gaps.Alternately, you may use this stencil as an alternative.Among the decorations on this cake is the well-known Gryffindor scarf.

She has a video that demonstrates how she achieved it.With only one piping tip, you can easily create three stripes of yellow, followed by three stripes of burgundy, and then repeat the process. This cake was featured since it is a sheet cake and because, despite the fact that it appears to be difficult, it is not.

First and foremost, this one is made of fondant.Even though I dislike fondant, I adore the way this cake looks, thus I will be making it entirely out of icing when I make it next time around. To pipe the scar and spectacles, it’s not too difficult.

In order to make the glasses, I would use a cup that is the correct size for the lenses and lightly press it into the frosting so that you have a guide to follow. On the bottom half, I’m merely going to use two colors of icing on top of the cake to make it seem more festive.I wanted to share this pin because it has a sorting hat on it, which I thought was pretty cool.

The objects on the cake are made of fondant, but you may use any material you choose.I’m thinking about making a hat out of tootsie rolls for this occasion.Placing an object near the cake, such as a Harry Potter Funko Pop, amplifies the impact without the need for any more work on your part. All it takes is some back and forth piping with a broad tip and you’re finished.

    1. Choose whether or not to make the cupcakes; the decision is yours.
    2. If you don’t have time, you can always put anything on the top of the cake (see choices below) Choose the colors that represent your followers’ favorite houses to make it really special.

Introduction: Harry Potter’s Birthday Cake AS SEEN IN THE MOVIE

Making this cake to match the one seen in the movie was a labor of love for me.It’s the cake that Hagrid gave Harry Potter for his birthday in the first Harry Potter film, The Sorcerer’s Stone. You can see the original cake from the movie here: it is a dense chocolate cake with a chocolate icing filling.Decorative icing is used to write on the top frosting, which is a regular buttercream frosting that has been tinted pink.Enjoy!

    Step 1: Ingredients

In order to make the batter, you’ll need 1 3/4 cups all-purpose flour.12 cup chocolate chips (optional) 14 cup cocoa powder (about) 12 cup freshly brewed coffee 1 and a quarter cup sugar 1 teaspoon of table salt vanilla extract (about 2 tablespoons) 1 and a quarter tablespoons baking soda 4 big eggs + 2 egg yolks = 8 large eggs 12 cup vegetable oil 1 cup buttermilk (optional) 14 cup melted butter (softened) 12 cup chocolate chips equals 4 ounces baking chocolate for the Middle Frosting.12 cup heavy cream (optional) 1 tablespoon of melted butter 12 teaspoons of pure vanilla essence 1 / 8 cup sugar 1 teaspoon corn syrup (optional) a quarter cup of softened butter for the pink top frosting 3 cups confectioners’ sugar (powdered sugar) 1 / 4 cup milk 14 tsp of vanilla extract Food coloring in the color red Decorative Icing in a Green Shade

    Step 2: Preparation

Prepare two 9-inch cake pans by greasing them, lining them with parchment paper, and then greasing and flouring them. Remove any extra flour by tapping it out.

    Step 3: Chocolate + Coffee

Pour the hot coffee into a medium-sized bowl set over a saucepan with a little amount of water. Stir in the chocolate chips and cocoa powder until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth. 12 cup of sugar should be stirred until creamy and dissolved, which should take a couple of minutes. In a large mixing bowl, combine the oil. Remove the pan from the heat and set it aside.

    Step 4: Dry Ingredients

In a medium-sized mixing basin, whisk together the flour, salt, and baking soda.

Step 5: Buttermilk / Buttermilk Substitute

To replace buttermilk if you don’t have any on hand, place 1 tablespoon of vinegar in a measuring cup and stir well. Rest of the milk should be added to the cup and allowed to settle for a few minutes. In a medium-sized mixing basin, whisk together the buttermilk and vanilla extract.

    Step 6: Eggs + Sugar

All of the eggs and the remaining 1 14 cup of sugar should be whisked together on high speed for a few minutes, until they are fluffy and light. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit at this point.

Step 7: Stir It All Together

While continuing to use the stand mixer, whisk the chocolate mixture and softened butter together until well blended.Starting with the flour mixture and finishing with the buttermilk mixture, alternately add a little amount of the flour combination and a small amount of the buttermilk mixture into the sugar mixture in the stand mixer.Stir only until everything is incorporated, no more, no less.Scrape the edges of the bowl and mix a bit more to ensure that everything is well-combined.

    Step 8: Fill and Bake

Pour the batter into the two prepared cake pans in equal portions and bake in the preheated oven for at least 25 minutes, checking to see if done after a 25 – 30 minute interval. When a toothpick put in the centre of the cake comes out with only a few crumbs, the cake is said to be done. When finished, turn the cakes over onto a cooling rack while still in their pans and take away the parchment paper. Then turn the cakes right side up on the racks and allow them to cool fully before icing them, which should take a couple of hours. If the tops of the cakes are uneven, you may use a knife to level them out.

    Step 9: Chocolate Filling1

In a saucepan, simmer the heavy cream and butter over medium heat until the mixture barely begins to boil.Check to see that the butter has melted.Reduce the heat to low and whisk in the corn syrup and sugar until the sugar is completely dissolved.Pour in the vanilla extract.Pour the heated liquid over the chocolate chips in a medium metal mixing bowl and whisk until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.

    Step 10: Chocolate Filling2

Prepare an ice bath for the chocolate mixture, and whisk constantly until the frosting thickens and becomes cold. After taking it out of the ice water, whisk it with a mixer until it is light and fluffy.

Step 11: Spread on the Filling

Spread a thick layer of the freshly whipped chocolate filling onto the top of the bottom cake layer and set aside. Keep the frosting about a half-inch away from the sides of the cake. Place the other half on top of the first part and press down firmly. Place in the refrigerator while you continue with the following step:

    Step 12: The Pink Frosting

All of the Frosting Ingredients (softened butter, milk, vanilla, powdered sugar, and 3-4 drops red food coloring) should be combined in a tall small mixing basin and whisked until smooth. In order to achieve the light/dark pink hue seen in the main photo, I used around 3-4 drops of the red food coloring, but if it does not reach that shade, you may add a few more drops.First, apply a thin layer of frosting all over the cake. This is referred to as the crumb layer.Place the dish in the refrigerator for twenty to thirty minutes at this stage.

    1. Remove from the oven when the time has elapsed and coat with a thicker layer of the pink frosting.

    Step 13: Green Decorative Icing

There are many different colors of green ornamental icing available at food stores; nevertheless, they are rather pricey. To begin, use a toothpick to draw the letters on the cake to serve as a guide. After that, gently tube out the green material and draw ″HAPPEE BIRTHDAE HARRY″ on the cake in the manner shown. (See illustration.)

    Step 14: Done!

Place in the refrigerator until you are ready to serve.

    Harry Potter Cake

The 5th of November, 2018 One of my friends is a huge fan of Harry Potter, so I decided to make her a Harry Potter cake. When it comes to Harry Potter fans, this cake is a must-have.It is suitable for both children and adults. For this cake, I used the same cake recipe as for my Naked Cake, but instead of using buttercream frosting in the centre of the cake, I used red velvet to decorate the top of the icing. For the icing on the cake, I wanted a rich crimson color, and red velvet appeared to be the ideal match.

    1. Because the colors of Harry Potter are red and yellow, I needed to make certain that the entire cake was decorated in those hues.
    2. Divide the batter into two separate basins.
    3. Add yellow food coloring to one batch of batter and red food coloring to the other dish of batter.
    4. Put half of the mixture into two 9-inch round baking pans and bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes each pan.

While the cake is baking, prepare the red velvet frosting by mixing the ingredients together. One other thing to mention is that I had leftover buttercream from a prior cake, so I put it in the centre. If you don’t want to create a separate batch of buttercream for the centre of the cake, you can just use the red velvet for the middle of the cake instead.Allow for thorough cooling of the cake.Cut the tops of the cakes with a serrated knife to ensure that the tops of the cakes are evenly distributed.Lay down the red cake on the bottom of the cake plate and apply the buttercream or red velvet icing on top of the cake.

Stack the yellow cake on top of the chocolate cake and cover the entire cake with icing.Cut four long pieces of fondant and arrange them on the top of the cake to make a border. As shown in the illustration below.Because I had some leftover buttercream frosting, I tinted it with yellow food coloring and piped yellow dots around the cake using a round tip using the leftover frosting. When I was looking for the Harry Potter logo, I discovered one on the internet and printed it out, cutting it out so that I could recreate the design with black fondant.

Once the logo has been cut out, it should be placed on top of the cake.I happened to have the glasses from a Where’s Waldo costume in my Halloween box, and they worked well.I purchased them from a local party supply store. The happy birthday sign was created by printing the words ″happy birthday″ in red on a piece of yellow paper.Make diamond shapes around the letters, and make sure you have enough paper to fold the diamonds in half so they can be laid over the string when you are through.

To hold the sign in place, I used two wooden dowels.

On a low speed, add the dry ingredients in three additions, alternating with the buttermilk, beginning and finishing with the dry ingredients in each addition, and mixing each addition just until it is integrated. It is important not to overmix this batter. The batter should be smooth, silky, and somewhat thick in consistency.
    6. Pour/spread the batter into the two cake pans that have been prepared equally.
    7. Bake for approximately 30-35 minutes, or until the cakes are thoroughly baked. When in doubt, insert a toothpick into the center of the cake to see if it is done. If it comes out clean, the job is over. Allow the cakes to cool fully in their pans, which should be placed on a wire rack. The cakes must be allowed to cool fully before icing and assembling them.

    Buttercream Frosting

    1. Use an electric hand mixer or a stand mixer fitted with a whisk or paddle attachment to cream the butter in a large mixing basin for about 2 minutes on medium speed.
    2. With the mixer on low speed, slowly add 5 1/2 cups confectioners’ sugar, 5 tablespoons heavy cream, and the vanilla essence until well combined. Increase the speed to a high level and continue to beat for 3 full minutes.
    3. If the frosting is too thin, add 1/2 cup more confectioners’ sugar, and if the frosting is too thick, add 1 tablespoon more cream.
    4. This recipe makes approximately 4.5 cups of frosting.

    Red Velvet Frosting

    1. Cream butter in a big mixing basin with an electric stand mixer with with a paddle attachment or with a handheld mixer and a large mixing bowl on medium speed until creamy. Beat in the cream cheese until it is completely blended. Mix in the vanilla and food coloring until everything is well-combined. Increase the mixer speed gradually to high and continue beating until the mixture is light and fluffy, scraping down the sides of the bowl as necessary with a rubber spatula.
    2. In a large mixing basin, whisk together the confectioners’ sugar and cocoa until well combined. Slowly add the confectioners’ sugar and cocoa mixture, beating on low speed (stirring constantly) until everything is thoroughly blended. Beat on high speed for about 2 minutes, or until everything is fully blended and smooth, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed.

    Assemble and decorate the cake:

    1. Remove a thin layer off the tops of the cakes using a broad serrated knife to create a level surface for the cakes to rest on. Discard or preserve for later consumption.
    2. Place 1 cake layer on a cake stand, cake turntable, or serving plate, and repeat the process. Spread the icing on top in a uniform layer.
    3. Place the second cake layer on top and spread the icing evenly around the entire cake.
    4. A bench scraper is useful for spreading icing evenly across the sides of the cake.
    5. Cut four long strips of yellow fondant and arrange them on the top of the cake as a border.
    6. See the illustration for a visual reference. Because I had some leftover buttercream frosting, I colored it yellow with food coloring and piped yellow dots around the cake with a round tip.
    7. When I was looking for the Harry Potter logo, I discovered one on the internet and printed it out, cutting it out so that I could recreate the design with black fondant. Once the logo has been cut out, it should be placed on top of the cake.

This recipe does not necessitate the preparation of a complete batch of buttercream frosting. If you wish to use buttercream in the centre of the cake instead of red velvet, cut the recipe in half and use half the ingredients. In addition, I used yellow buttercream to decorate the outside of the cake.I only wanted to provide the buttercream frosting recipe in case you wanted to make the exact same cake.

Harry Potter Birthday Cake from Hagrid

Harry Potter is a fictional character created by J.K.Rowling in the novel Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. The one who has been selected. The boy who made it through.Today marks the 40th birthday of the figure that molded my whole childhood and (let’s be honest) adulthood.

    1. Taking inspiration from the cake Hagrid presents to Harry on his eleventh birthday, I created this Harry Potter birthday cake.
    2. Also known as the day he discovers he is a wizard!
    3. A historic occasion has occurred, and any Potterhead will appreciate this cake!
    4. Whenever I want to create anything that is inspired by Harry Potter, I usually turn to my favorite cookbook, The Unofficial Harry Potter Cookbook, for inspiration.

For Harry’s fortieth birthday, I wanted to do something particularly special, so I set out to design something unique. This cake is my absolute favorite, and it is my go-to chocolate cake. It’s moist and bursting with a powerful chocolate taste. The vanilla buttercream is my go-to icing for every occasion. It’s the recipe I make the most out of any other! This cake would also be a good match for my strawberry buttercream frosting.

Chocolate and strawberry are a combination made in heaven, and you wouldn’t even have to use pink food coloring to make it!The fact that Hagrid was not a seasoned cake designer adds to the appeal of this confection. This means that you are not need to be!Flaws in the icing were allowed in an attempt to be as accommodating as possible (which was difficult for my perfectionist personality), but you could easily get away with numerous faults here.As far as pipping lettering goes, it’s not something I’m very talented at.

We may also praise our beloved giant for his sloppy penmanship, which we can all appreciate. You can get away with writing that is swervy and screwed up.At fact, it’s encouraged in this place!

My youth and (let’s be honest) life were formed by a single figure, who is 40 years old now. Taking inspiration from the cake Hagrid presents to Harry on his 11th birthday, I created this Harry Potter birthday cake. In other words, the day he discovers that he is a magician! Any Potterhead would like this cake since it commemorates a historic occasion. Whenever I want to create anything that is inspired by Harry Potter, I usually turn to my favorite cookbook, The Unofficial Harry Potter Cookbook (which I reviewed here). It was Harry’s fortieth birthday this year, and I wanted to do something particularly special to commemorate it. Whenever I want a chocolate cake, this is the one I reach for! A rich chocolate taste permeates this delicious cake. All-purpose frosting like vanilla buttercream is what I use most often. My favorite recipe by far is this one. Alternatively, my strawberry buttercream might be a good match for this cake! This is a match made in heaven, and you wouldn’t even have to use pink food coloring to make it so. The fact that Hagrid was not a seasoned cake designer adds to the allure of this confectionary creation. Consequently, you are not need to be! You could easily get away with a lot of faults here, and I tried my hardest to allow for imperfections in the icing (which was difficult for my type A self to do). I’m not really talented when it comes to pipping letters. As for his sloppy penmanship, we may thank our favorite giant as well. swervy, messed-up writing can get away with a lot of things At fact, it’s encouraged in this establishment!

    J.K. Rowling’s thoughts

Witches and wizards frequently disclose themselves to one another in public by donning the colors purple or green, sometimes in conjunction with one another.Purple is associated with both monarchy and religion in the United Kingdom (as well as most of the rest of Europe).Amethysts have historically been put on bishops’ rings because purple dyes are expensive and were previously reserved for the wealthiest. In the United Kingdom, the color green has long been associated with the supernatural.Superstition holds that it should be worn with caution, and the fairies are said to be the only ones who can wear it because it is their rightful color.

    1. It should never be worn at a wedding because of the additional connotation with disaster and death that it has.
    2. Slytherin house is represented by the color green, which is also associated with much ″Dark″ magic, including the ‘Dark Mark,’ the luminous potion in which Voldemort conceals one of his Horcruxes, and numerous ″Dark″ spells and curses.
    3. As a result, the combination of purple and green conjures up images of both the noble and the ignoble aspects of magic, as well as the beneficial and destructive aspects.
    4. In some ways, the four Hogwarts houses are associated with the four elements, and their colors were chosen in accordance with this relationship.

Gryffindor (red and gold) is associated with fire; Slytherin (green and silver) is associated with water; Hufflepuff (yellow and black, symbolizing wheat and soil) is associated with earth; and Ravenclaw (blue and bronze, representing the sky and eagle feathers) is associated with the element air.Colors such as peach and salmon pink are notably un-magical, and as a result, they are highly favored by characters such as Aunt Petunia. On the other hand, bright pink, as worn by the likes of Nymphadora Tonks, conveys a certain punky ‘yeah, I had a Muggle-born father and I’m not ashamed of it’ attitude that is appropriate for the Harry Potter universe.Colors also had a role in the naming of Hagrid and Dumbledore, whose initial names are Rubeus (red) and Albus (white), respectively, and whose middle names are Rubeus and Albus.A allusion to alchemy, which is prominent in the first Harry Potter novel, in which ″the red″ and ″the white″ are crucial magical components of the process, was chosen as the color scheme. When used in this context, the symbolism of colors has a mystic meaning, since they reflect the many stages of the alchemical process (which many people associate with a spiritual transformation).

For my two main characters, I named them after alchemical colors to convey their opposing but complementary personalities: red represents passion (or emotion); white represents asceticism; Hagrid representing the earthy, warm, and physical man who is the lord of the forest; Dumbledore representing the spiritual theoretician who is brightly coloured but idealised and a little disinterested. Each character serves as a vital counterweight to the other as Harry searches for father figures in his new environment.

How to make the birthday cake Hagrid gave to Harry Potter

    • So, Harry,″ the giant said, turning his back on the Dursleys, ″a very happy birthday to you.″ I’ve got something for you here – I may or may not have sat on it at some time, but it’ll taste fine.″ He reached inside an interior pocket of his black overcoat and pulled out a box that was somewhat squished. Harry slid the door open with shaky fingers. The cake was a huge, gooey chocolate cake with the words ″Happy Birthday Harry″ inscribed in green icing on the outside. Exactly twenty-six years ago today, the first Harry Potter novel was published, and the world was introduced to Diagon Alley, Platform 9 34, and of course, Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry for the first first time. Why not create a cake in celebration of the renowned series and author J. K. Rowling’s own birthday on October 7th? In fact, why not recreate the sticky chocolate cake that Hagrid handed to Harry on his 11th birthday, 21 years ago, to celebrate the occasion? One of my favorite types of squidgy chocolate cake has had to be a devil’s food cake, which has a dense, moist texture and a massive amount of strong chocolate flavor in every mouthful. It is necessary to use green icing for the letters, which may be purchased previously prepared in a tube from a kitchen supply retailer. Despite the fact that the color of the frosting that covers the remainder of the cake was never mentioned in the book, the films depict a cake that is coated in pink icing, which contrasts well with the green letters in a charmingly cottagey fashion. If you’re in a hurry, you can whip up a batch of this classic chocolate cake in under an hour. For equally effective and enjoyable results, either follow this delectable recipe if you have the want to invest some time in the kitchen, or use a boxed cake mix (which can be easily made to taste handmade) Make the cake a touch uneven to earn extra authenticity marks – after all, Hagrid did sit on it! Even if that seems like too much effort, you can still have your cake and eat it too! Montclair Bread Company, situated in New Jersey, is constructing its own version of the legendary birthday cake to commemorate Harry Potter’s birthday. The cake will be available for purchase until Tuesday, July 31, and may be ordered online. A prominent bakery in the New York City suburb known for its feces emoji cupcakes and ″Fueled by Doughnuts″ running club has reported that the reception to the cake has been overwhelmingly positive since its release. They informed The Daily Meal that they had had hundreds of queries and pre-orders in less than 24 hours after posting a screen capture from the movie and announcing that they were selling the cake. Following the purchase of the cake, it only seems sense to hold a fun Harry Potter-themed party, don’t you think? Judging if Harry Potter’s birthdays were all awful, based on the gifts

Harry Potter has had a slew of memorable birthdays.Following the loss of his parents, Harry was forced to grow up as Vernon and Petunia Dursley’s unwilling ward, and he never truly experienced any love, devotion, or celebration of his life.He had to make it through his adolescent years first, though, before he could mature into the perfectly fine protagonist and family man that he is today. The seven birthdays that we learn about throughout the course of the seven Harry Potter novels cover a wide range of quality and significance. Is it possible that he spent some of it in a freezing tent or that he learned of an ally’s death over dinner?

    1. Were there a ton of presents, some of which were too NSFW for the average person huge see?
    2. This year, in honor of Harry’s 39th birthday — which coincides with his formal initiation into middle-age — we’ve taken
