Cake Boss is coming back, but Buddy Valastro will be on a new network

It first broadcast ten years ago, and it will continue to screen new episodes till the end of 2017.There were several specials shown and several spin-off shows, including Next Great Baker, Kitchen Boss, and Buddy’s Bakery Rescue, as a result of the success of Cake Boss.Although Buddy was previously broadcast on a more prominent network (Discovery Kids), the show is now going to a smaller, less noticeable network (what used to be Discovery Kids and then The Hub).
Currently running on Food Network is Buddy’s second program, Bake You Rich. This show, like all of Food Network’s other shows, is a competition, as are all of the other shows (and like the recently-concluded Buddy vs.Duff, on which Buddy lost the competition to Food Network regular Duff Goldman).Perhaps a documentary-style series like Cake Boss just does not belong on Food Network, or perhaps the move to Discovery Family is an attempt to draw attention and viewers to a lesser network by exploiting his show.

TLC Pulls Cake Boss Episode After Carmen Carrera and Her Supporters Speak Out
TLC has deleted an episode of Cake Boss from the airways following outcry from transgender lady Carmen Carrera, her allies, and the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAD) about how the performer was presented as the joke to a hoax setup on the show. When TLC learned of Carrera and her supporters’ concerns, they immediately pulled the episode from rotation. The network is now examining the footage to determine whether it may be returned after being edited, according to GLAAD’s sources.Repeats of the show that were planned to air yesterday night were likewise not broadcast.
This is a much-appreciated and necessary effort on the part of the network to assist in the resolution of the problem.A cast member flirted with Carerra before it was revealed to him that she was a transgender woman, at which time one of the cast members yelled, ″It’s a man, baby,″ in the original version of the episode. The sexist setup and outcome completely degraded her gender identity as a transgender woman, and it has no place on television or in the media.
Carrera’s fans launched a Change.org petition yesterday, urging TLC’s Cake Boss to give a public apology to the transgender community. The petition has received more than 8,000 signatures so far, and Carrera has yet to respond. As a result, Carmen has talked with Buddy Valastero, the program’s executive producer, who has apologized for what happened and offered to make her a cake; however, Carmen has instead asked for action from the show and TLC ″There is nothing I would want more than a cake and an apology.I’d like them to feel some guilt for what they’ve done and work to put things right.
- I want to promote equality and eradicate ignorance at the end of the day, after all.
- As a result of this kind of foolishness, transgender individuals are dying in droves.
- It is not acceptable.″ As part of the show’s Facebook page, Valastero stated: ″I’ve been attempting to communicate with Carmen and apologize to her individually, but I also believe that an apology to the broader LGBT community is in order.″ It was never my aim to upset or disrespect her, or anybody else in the community, and I made a mistake by using the language I did.
- I apologize for any offense caused.
- Even though I am an outspoken advocate of LGBT rights and equality, and while I regret the circumstance and my choice of words, I am grateful for the feedback and the opportunity to learn from my error.
- I hope Carmen understands and accepts my deepest apologies.
- Carrera talked with GLAAD after learning that the program had been canceled, and she expressed her gratitude by saying: ″It’s evident that TLC is taking this seriously and expressing real concern – which means a lot to me.″ It is not acceptable for the media to make fun of people or to spread misinformation.
- The love I’ve received over the past 24 hours has been overwhelming, and I want transgender women to know that we have a voice as well.
- Women who identify as transgender are among the most courageous individuals I have ever met, and I aspire to be there for them when they are subjected to bigotry like this in their daily lives.
- We deserve to be treated with the same respect as any other woman and to be accepted for who we are, rather than being made to feel like we are less than human.
Transgender-related programming and representations will not be tolerated by the transgender community, and we hope that other networks will follow TLC’s lead and acknowledge this.

Buddy previously said in an interview with Baker’s Journal in 2015 that he had never truly used the nickname Cake Boss until the program premiered.Instead, the show came up with a cheeky moniker to refer to him.Given that Buddy was really sued for using the name, it was the name itself that caused the most trouble.Masters Software, Inc.

5Buddy Once Fired His Own Sister
Working with family members may be difficult and fraught with conflict. However, it is still uncommon for families to terminate each other from their respective jobs. That’s precisely what Buddy had done at one time in his life, as well. One episode of the hit television show ″Cake Boss″ had Buddy declaring that he and the bakery had had enough of his sister Mary Sciarrone and her loud mouth.
As a result, he decided to take her aside and inform her that he had made the decision to terminate her. It’s not all bad, because Sciarrone was finally rehired.″Cake Boss″ fans who have been following Buddy and his family throughout the entire season are likely to be familiar with Anthony ″Cousin Anthony″ Bellifemine, who appears on the show several times.
He was the person who worked on cakes while pulling jokes on Buddy and the other members of the bakery crew at the same time. The Boston Marathon bombing in 2013 prompted a response from Bellifemine on Twitter, in which he referred to immigrants as ″animals.″ Despite the negative feedback, it appears that Bellifemine has stuck to his guns.
3Buddy Allegedly Has Mafia Connections
As it turns out, Buddy doesn’t only hang out with celebs and other VIPs on the red carpet.Apparently, the Cake Boss has ties to the Mafia as well as other criminal organizations.During an interview, Buddy was reportedly asked if he was familiar with the Mafia, to which he responded, ″Absolutely.″ ″It’s something that everyone does.″ Aside from these statements, however, there have been no reports of Buddy hanging around with well-known individuals or families.

When I think about ‘Cake Boss,’ or when I think about these cakes that I make, I believe that everything is possible, and then I go out and make it happen with my own two hands, just like the characters on the show. This is what I do for a living. And I had the distinct impression that some of it might never be there again.″ Valastro claims to have achieved significant progress.
It was in February, around six months after the accident, that he was able to create a fist again, and he now feels ″about 95 percent back.″ In between showing off his hand and getting laughter from the TODAY crew, the comedian made the joke: ″I don’t believe I’m going to be a hand model.″ ″Even if I need to have another operation in the future, given what occurred — a giant metal spike through my hand, the fact that I’m here talking to you guys today and doing what I’m doing — plus, listen up: the technology — it’s probably not a bad idea.I suffered nerve damage, and she was able to restore the damage. For over a year, these fingers here were merely tingling and sleepy, but now the nerve is starting to regenerate and the fingers are really feeling normal again.″ Valastro also revealed to Rachael Ray in September that his hand had recovered to a 95 percent degree.I told him that if that’s the best he was going to receive, he should accept it.

- ″Something advised me to maintain my composure.″ Valastro has undoubtedly had a difficult road to recovery, having undergone many operations over the course of the previous year and dealing with fears that he might never be able to bake again, but he was back in the kitchen less than a month after that.
