What is a real unicorn?
It may come as a shock, but actually unicorns don’t exist. However, there is a real animal which isn’t much different, and which faces very real, serious threats. African rhinos are being poached in record numbers because of the fantastical belief that their horns cure ailments and even hangovers.
What kind of horn does a unicorn have?
Heraldry. In heraldry, a unicorn is often depicted as a horse with a goat’s cloven hooves and beard, a lion’s tail, and a slender, spiral horn on its forehead (non-equine attributes may be replaced with equine ones, as can be seen from the following gallery).

Here’s an easy unicorn drawing project with step-by-step instructions. Focus on just the head and you’ll have time to draw an extra fancy mane.
Horse-like creatures are among the most difficult animals to draw, in my opinion, and I believe they are towards the top of the list in terms of complexity. To get their head, neck, and legs to appear correct is quite difficult because of all the bends and curves in their bodies. If you draw them too straight, they’ll appear a little feeble. If you make them excessively curving, they will seem a little weird. In addition, unless pupils have an actual horse in front of them, or at the very least a nice photo of a horse, there is a significant probability that they will become stranded somewhere along the journey.
- Not to worry, I’m quite certain that sketching anything horse-like (including unicorns) has proven to be a difficult challenge for many artists over the years.
- What is the solution?
- A unicorn lesson that just focuses on the head and mane of the unicorn.
- Every bit of the adorable and bright enjoyment is still there, but there is no additional irritation.
- For some other ideas on how to color your unicorn, check out the final examples further down the page.
- Yes, a backdrop with a rainbow painted on it is always beautiful.
- However, even if you just have access to crayons, this does not imply that your unicorn must be any less vibrant in color.

Sharpie Marker in the color black. These fine point permanent marker pens produce beautiful black outlines, have an excellent tip for coloring, and do not bleed when they come into contact with water. To safeguard your tables, place them in a well-ventilated area and place additional paper below them.
Prang Crayons are a brand of crayons. Because they are a little softer than regular crayons, they can occasionally be mistaken for oil pastels. They also offer a few good brown tones that Crayola does not carry unless you purchase one of their bigger boxes of colored pencils.
Crayola Crayons are a popular brand of crayons. The dependable brand that dependably performs admirably. The 24 pack has some of my favorite golden orange and yellow hues, which appear to be a little richer and warmer in tone than the ones available from Prang.

- For us, there was nothing quite like arriving at school with a bag full of brand-new Lisa Frank folders, pencil cases, and erasers to spare — and we’re sure we’re not the only ones who have been chasing that feeling since. Children in the 1980s and 1990s recall the brand’s prominence because of its vivid colors and quirky patterns. Now it’s resurfacing with a fresh lease of life: In the form of Pillsbury cookie dough. We’re excited to introduce you to the new Pillsbury Lisa Frank Unicorn Shape Sugar Cookie Dough from General Mills! The ready-to-bake cookie dough is made out of sugar cookie dough that has been imprinted with a pink unicorn and blue stars design. In exchange for $2.67, you’ll receive a bag of 20 cookies that are ready to be baked or eaten right from the packaging because, yes, they are safe to consume straight from the package. The fact that Lisa Frank designs are making their way into the baking aisle is a testament to the fact that this is a partnership you don’t want to miss. A public relations representative confirmed to Best Products that the new readymade Pillsbury cookie dough would be available at shops nationwide starting in mid-December 2021. One piece of bad news is that it’ll only be there for a short period of time, which implies that we shouldn’t spend any time in fulfilling our childhood fantasies. From the exterior, the Lisa Frank cookie dough appears to be a product intended for children, and we believe that they will like the bright colors and amusing shapes of the finished cookies. It is, however, widely understood to be aimed mostly at the 20-somethings and 30-somethings of the globe, who are in desperate need of a little nostalgia in their life. And we owe a debt of gratitude to Pillsbury. More information may be found at: Introducing Cereal3D, a new way to enjoy Little Debbie’s Cosmic Brownies. Ingredients
- 1.5 cups cake flour, 1 1/2 cups sugar, 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 cup unsalted butter, cubed
- 4 big egg whites, room temperature
- 3/4 cup 2 percent milk, divided
- 1 teaspoon clear vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon almond extract
- 1/3 cup rainbow jimmies
- BUTTERCREAM:
- 1 1/2 cups sugar, 1/2 teaspoon cream of tartar, 1/2 teaspoon salt, 2 cups unsalted butter cubed, 1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla essence
- 6 ounces white baking chocolate, chopped
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 6 big egg whites
- Make a paste out of food coloring
Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350 degrees. Line the bottoms of three 6-inch round baking pans with parchment paper
- oil and flour the pans
- in a large mixing basin, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined. Using a fork, crumble in the butter until it looks crumbly. Toss in the egg whites one at a time, beating well after each addition. Gradually beat in 1/4 cup milk and the extracts on medium speed for approximately 2 minutes, or until the mixture is light and fluffy. Add the rest of the milk gradually, beating well after each addition. Gently fold in the jimmies
- transfer the batter to the pans that have been prepped. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the middle of each cake comes out clean. Allow for 10 minutes of cooling time in the pans before transferring to wire racks
- discard paper. Allow to cool fully before using. For the buttercream, heat the chocolate and cream in the microwave until smooth, stirring every 30 seconds. Remove from the oven and let aside to cool somewhat. In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with a heatproof attachment, beat together the egg whites, sugar, cream of tartar, and salt until well combined. Using a large saucepan over medium heat, bring the water to a gentle simmer. Remove from heat after 8-10 minutes of regularly whisking the mixture until a thermometer registers 160 degrees. Using the whisk attachment on a stand mixer, beat on high speed for about 7 minutes, or until the temperature reaches 90°. On a medium speed, gradually add the butter, a few tablespoons at a time, until the mixture is smooth
- whip in the vanilla and white chocolate mixture
- Spread icing between the layers as well as over the top and edges of the cake to finish it off. Divide the leftover buttercream into smaller parts and paint with food coloring until desired colors are achieved. Decorate to your liking. Refrigerate after opening.
- Tips for the kitchen that have been tested Apply edible gold mist on a sugar cone and use it as a horn.
- To make the eyeballs, pipe melted yellow candy coating disks onto parchment paper and place in the refrigerator until set.
- To make the ears, mix your favorite cutout cookie dough with jimmies
- cut into 2-inch hearts and bake until golden and crisp. While the dough is still warm, shape it into the curve of a big metal spoon and set it aside to cool. Using melted white chocolate, coat the edges of the cake.

- Nutrition information is generated using an ingredient database and should be regarded as an educated guess at this time. It might be difficult to prepare a complex and fanciful unicorn dessert without a pastry degree from a culinary school, yet unicorn sweets are quite popular right now. Fortunately, these unicorn cupcakes can be made without the use of any special tools or technical expertise. It is possible, in fact, to change an ordinary vanilla cupcake into an astonishing legendary monster with a few of marshmallows, some sprinkles, and the placement of a candle. Making the unicorn ears is the tricky part. Simply cut a small marshmallow on the diagonal and dip the cut side into pink sanding sugar to finish the decoration. These small triangles may be carefully put on a frosted cupcake as charming unicorn ears since the sugar will cling to the sticky side of the marshmallow. In addition, there is no need to mess with fondant while creating the unicorn horn on the cake. To get started, simply insert a gold spiral candle between your earlobes. These unicorn snacks will be a hit with the kids, and you’ll appreciate how simple and quick they are to put together. As a consequence, both children and adults enjoy a successful celebration. In fact, these unicorn cupcakes are simple enough that children may paint them themselves for a unicorn-themed party or event. This recipe calls for gold-spiraled candles, which you can find here. For the Cupcakes, use the following ingredients: 6 ounces unsalted butter, melted 3/4 cup all-purpose flour (1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt)
- 2 big eggs
- 2/3 cup sugar
- 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
- 1/2 cup milk
- For the Buttercream Frosting, combine 1 cup (8 ounces) melted unsalted butter, 3 1/3 cups confectioners’ sugar, 1/4 cup heavy cream, 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract, 1/4 teaspoon salt in a mixing bowl until well combined.
- Decorations for the Unicorns: pastel colored sprinkles for garnish

- pastel colored sprinkles for the Unicorns
- Pink sanding sugar is used as a garnish.
- Garnish: 12 tiny marshmallows (for decoration)
- Gather all of the necessary components. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. 1 (12-cup) standard muffin tray should be lined with cupcake liners
- Make the cupcakes as directed. In a medium-sized mixing basin, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a separate dish, using an electric mixer, beat the eggs and sugar until light and frothy, about 2 minutes. Gradually pour in the melted butter, followed by the vanilla extract, while continuing to whisk.
- Working in batches, alternately add the flour mixture and the milk to the egg mixture, mixing well after each addition. It is important not to overmix.
- Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups in the muffin tray that has been prepped. Baking time is 18-20 minutes, or until a cake tester inserted into the middle of a cupcake comes out clean.
- 10 minutes after removing from the tin, allow the cupcakes to cool fully on a cooling rack.
- To make the frosting, cream together the softened butter and confectioners’ sugar until creamy. Add the powdered sugar and continue to beat until there are no lumps.
- Combine the heavy cream, vanilla, and salt in a mixing bowl. Mix until everything is well-combined.
- Place the frosting in a piping bag equipped with a big star tip and pipe the icing onto the cake. Pipe a few swirls of frosting onto each cupcake
- garnish the cupcakes with pastel colored sprinkles
- and serve immediately after baking.
- On a plate, spread a few teaspoons of pink sanding sugar to cover the surface. Cut each marshmallow in half on the diagonal, then dip the cut side into the sugar to coat it completely.
- Place two marshmallow unicorn ears on top of each cupcake and press them in place.
- Place a gold spiral candle in between the marshmallow ears on each cupcake to serve as the unicorn horn for each cupcake.
- Serve.
How to Store
- Refrigerate until you’re ready to use it (around 30 minutes). It is possible to make and decorate these cupcakes up to 8 hours before serving
- leftover cupcakes should be kept in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to three days. They last the longest when they are not decorated.
How Do I Make My Cupcakes Look Professional?
With the correct equipment and a little practice, it’s much easier to create cupcakes that appear like they came from a bakery. Instead of spreading the frosting on with a knife, a piping set makes the icing seem much more equal and appealing. In addition, decorative sprinkles and high-quality liners give the cake a lovely, finished appearance.
