Yes! It’s actually so soft that I prefer to refrigerate the cake mix cookie mixture for at least 1 hour before baking it. This makes it easy to scoop out the cookies onto the baking sheet, and it also helps to limit the spreading of the cookies on the baking sheet.

    Some Tips & Tricks

    • Do not overmix the cookie batter
    • as previously said, it is preferable to chill the cake mix cookie dough since the dough is so soft that scooping it out immediately after combining the cookie batter might be difficult. Additionally, cooled cookie dough results in less spreading of the cookies when baked. You may also create the cookie dough ahead of time and store it in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. I like to bake cake mix cookies on silicone baking mats since it helps to limit the spreading of the cookies. Make use of parchment paper if you want to make these cookies even more delicious. This was something I had to learn the hard way. They are still quite soft when they are intended to be taken out of the oven since they are made with cake mix. They continue to bake as a result of the remaining heat from the baking sheet. I once overbaked the cookies, which resulted in their being extremely hard an hour later – which is considered a no-no in the cookie industry.

So just How Do You Know a Cookie is Done?

    • When it comes to cookies, every second matters, and it’s important to remember that cookies continue to cook as a result of the residual heat from the baking sheet. Because of this, even after they have been removed from the oven, they continue to cook for a few minutes more.
    • When the edges of the cookies are a light golden brown and the inside is still soft and mushy, the cookies are done.
    • Another easy way to tell whether cookies are done is to press your finger on the edge of the cookie
    • if the edge is hard, the cookies are done. If the edges of the cookies are still soft, this indicates that the cookies need to be baked for a little longer.
    • When it comes to cake mix cookies, after the edges have hardened, it is time to remove them from the oven. They will appear to be underbaked at this point, but put your faith in the Cookie Gods and allow them to cool on the baking sheet. However, they will not become hard as a result of the firming process.
    • Take pleasure in the cookieliciousness! 1/2 cup vegetable oil
    • 2 big eggs
    • 1 box cake mix (dry ingredients alone)
    • 1 1/2 cup mixed ingredients
    • Combine the cake mix, vegetable oil, and eggs in a large mixing bowl until well combined. Then carefully fold in the remaining ingredients. White cake mix is used to make the cookies depicted above, and I mixed in the colorful star sprinkles to make them seem more festive.
    • Refrigerate for 30 minutes to 1 hour to let the flavors to blend (or upto 4 days). This is an optional step, but I’ve found that chilling the cookie dough makes it simpler to scoop out and also causes the cookies to spread less while baking.
    • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and prepare a baking sheet with a silicone baking mat or parchment paper when you are ready to bake the cookies. Please keep in mind that using a silicone baking mat will result in less spreading of the cookies.
    • Scoop out the cookie batter and bake for 10-12 minutes, depending on your oven. Ideally, the edges of the cookies should be somewhat hard but the inside should still be soft and mushy when they are ready to be removed from the oven
    • Allow the cookies to cool for 10-15 minutes on the baking sheet before transferring them to a cooling rack.
    • Cake mix cookies can be kept in an airtight container for up to 1 week.

    • Question Add a new question Question All of the cake mix cookie recipes I’ve found ask for an 18.25 oz. box of cake mix. What should I do if the only boxes I can find are 15.25 oz? Replace half of the cup of vegetable oil with a third of a cup. You may still use two eggs because it makes the cake fluffier and does not affect the outcome in any other way.
    • Concerning the Question In the event that my batter is very runny, what should I add? More cake mix might be used to make it a bit thicker and less runny, if desired.
    • Concerning the Question What should you do if you are unable to locate 18 oz cartons of cake mix? Use 1 extra large or jumbo egg, half of the package, and half of all of the other ingredients to make this recipe. If the batter is too thin, gradually add more cake mix flour until the batter is the proper consistency for baking. It’s also possible to figure out how many ingredients you need based on the box you’re using by dividing the ounces of cake mix you have by 18 and multiplying each ingredient in the recipe by that number. Consider the following example: if you have 12 oz of cake mix, each component in the recipe should be multiplied by 12/18 (which is 2/3 of the total). As a result, you’d require (2/3) *(1/2) = 1/3 cup vegetable oil, (2/3)*2 = 4/3 egg (which means one entire egg plus a third of another egg), and so on and so forth.
    • Concerning the Question What is the maximum amount of time you can keep cookies? EmeraldNinjak’s Answer from the Community If you don’t want them to become stale, you can keep them for up to five days. Should the eggs/yolks be separated and beaten separately before being combined with the rest of the ingredients, or should they be mixed together? Although this could be the optimal solution in other recipes, it isn’t essential in this one. In a recipe, it will be specified whether or not egg whites and yolks must be separated.
    • Question Is it possible to substitute butter with vegetable oil? Yes. Instead of using oil, I used 2 oz of melted butter to make them. They turned out great. Everything worked out well.

The Recipe Calls for 18-ounce Cake Mix, What If You Can Only Find 15- ounces?

I’ve discovered that they’re discontinuing the classic 18-ounce cake mixes and are only selling 15-ounce cake mixes now.As a workaround, I add an additional 1/4 cup all-purpose flour to the recipe to make it more dense.I’ll be honest and state that you can certainly use the 15-ounce measuring cup in favor of the 18-ounce measuring cup with no modifications; the cookies will just be *slightly thinner as a result. The cake mix is quite forgiving!

Here Are Some Flavor Combo Ideas!

    • There are so many alternatives here, but I’ll offer you a couple more entertaining suggestions: Cookies: Red Velvet Cake with White Chips

    Description:

Easy Cake Mix Cookies are a delicious way to experiment with different cake tastes and add-ins! These are a favorite of my children’s to create! Scale

    Ingredients:

    • Cake mix (one box, one 18.25-ounce box)
    • two eggs
    • half-cup vegetable oil
    • one cup add-ins such as chocolate chips or M&M’s (if using sprinkles, use half-cup)

    Instructions

    1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Prepare a baking sheet by lining it with parchment paper and setting it aside
    2. In a large mixing basin, whisk together the cake mix, eggs, and oil until well combined. Instead, you may use the paddle attachment on your stand mixer to complete this step by mixing the ingredients on low speed until they are thoroughly incorporated.
    3. Mix in the chosen add-ins until they are uniformly distributed.
    4. Using a medium (2- spoonful) cookie scoop, distribute the dough onto the prepared cookie sheet, spacing them 2-inches away from one another. Bake for 9-10 minutes, or until the edges are gently browned and crisp.
    5. 3-4 minutes on the baking sheet before moving to a wire rack are sufficient times to cool the cookies completely.

    Notes:

Keep it in an airtight jar for up to 3 days at room temperature. You may use any flavor cake mix you like, and you can mix and match the add-ins! If you are unable to get the 18-ounce cake mix and can only locate the 15-ounce cake mix, simply add 1/4 cup additional all-purpose flour to the recipe. *Nutritional information does not contain any additional ingredients.

Introduction: Easy Cake Mix Cookies Recipe

One of those ″10 DIY Food Hacks YOU NEED RIGHT NOW″ lists had a recipe for cake mix cookies on it that seemed too wonderful to be true, so I tried it out for myself.Cookies in 20 minutes? You betcha. That was something I was completely unaware of.

    • However, it is effective!
    • In fact, I baked cake mix cookies at home and then again in the Instructables Test Kitchen since they were so good.
    • Their taste is excellent, especially the chocolate ones!
    • Because they’re not as dense as traditional cookies, and the middles are smooth and soft, the texture is fantastic!

One box of cake mix yields 24 cookies, which is more than enough to satisfy even the most voracious sweet tooth.:D

Step 1: Ingredients for Cake Mix Cookies

    • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
    • 2 eggs
    • one 15 oz box cake mix

That’s all there is to it! It’s really simple. You’ll also need an oven warmed to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius). I recommend using two baking pans so that you can bake the cookies all at the same time for the most convenience.:D

Step 2: Mixing the Cake Mix Cookie Dough

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees Celsius).Fill a large mixing bowl halfway with the cake mix.To make the eggs, measure out 1/2 cup vegetable oil and crack the eggs into it, beating with a fork until the eggs are lovely and yellow:) Pour the oil/egg mixture into the dry ingredients and combine thoroughly using a spatula. After some shaking, the mixture should come together – ensure sure there are no dry areas remaining!

    • The dough will be rather firm and shiny when finished.

Step 3: Measuring Out the Cake Mix Cookie Dough

Scoop the dough onto the baking sheets with a tablespoon measure and bake for 20 minutes. A standard box of cake mix will yield 24 cookies; bake 12 cookies on each baking sheet of parchment paper.

Step 4: Baking Cake Mix Cookies

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and bake the cookies for 12-14 minutes (175 C).When they initially come out of the oven, they will be puffy and appear to be undercooked, but they will flatten and firm up as they cool.Ideally, they should be beautifully browned on the bottom while remaining light on the top.Keeping them in the oven for an extended period of time might cause them to lose their moisture quickly, so keep an eye on them!

    • Hopefully, you’ll find these cake mix cookies as delicious as I did!
    • They’re especially useful when you’re feeling particularly sluggish.:D

    Funfetti Cookie Cake

Everyone in my family understands that when I bake a FUNFETTI Cookie Cake, it signifies that we are commemorating a special occasion in our lives.Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow today, which is good news for anyone celebrating a birthday, an anniversary, a holiday, or, if you are like me, who is celebrating that groundhog, this is good news.YAY for the arrival of spring early! And the greatest thing is that this Funfetti Cookie Cake is really simple to create and requires no baking.

    • It all starts with a box of Pillsbury Purely Simple Sugar Cookie Mix, which has become a new favorite of mine.
    • I used white chocolate chips to make this cake extra festive, and they really bring out the delicacy of the sugar cookie base.
    • Finally, you know that a celebration in our house isn’t complete without SPRINKLES, which is why I added a ton of SPRINKLES to the sugar cookie dough to turn this cookie cake into a Funfetti Cookie Cake.
    • I also used the new Pillsbury Purely Simple Buttercream Frosting Mix, and let me tell you, it was so simple to make and the frosting tasted fantastic that I don’t believe I’ll ever make frosting any other way again.

It was also really easy to prepare and the frosting tasted delicious. So, if you are searching for a fun way to celebrate with your family that is a bit different from the conventional cake or cookies, then this Funfetti Cookie Cake is the recipe for you!

    JUST A FEW BAKING TIPS:

You will need to use softened butter in both the sugar cookie and the buttercream frosting mixes, so make sure you have enough on hand.Consequently, if you are one of those people who consistently forgets to leave butter out on the counter to soften, here is an easy method for getting butter to soften more quickly.Alternatively, you may microwave a stick of butter that has been unwrapped for 10-15 seconds to soften it straight from the fridge.

SPRINKLES: It is critical to use standard rainbow sprinkles in the sugar cookie batter to avoid the cookie crumbling. In the case of nonpareils (the small ball sprinkles), they will bleed into the cookie batter and turn the cookie dough a terrible brownish/green hue… GROSS! However, you are welcome to utilize the nonpareils sprinkles for decoration purposes, like I did.
