However, I look forward to the opportunity to prepare small, time-consuming sugar treats every year with great anticipation. It was lately that the little kid celebrated his third birthday. He knew he wanted a batman birthday celebration as soon as he looked up at the pure blue sky. As a result, Batman was called in. Then my tiny wheels started turning. oooh. cake pops, of course. Cake pops in the shape of Batman. I realize this is ridiculous and time-consuming. The fact that they made me pleased is a holy hallelujah, batman. Bakerella is the reigning cake pop queen. Seriously, if you can think of it, she’s probably fashioned a cake pop out of it! My sister believes she has an excessive amount of free time on her hands. I believe she’s just great. in addition to being little jealous that she is paid to create these tiny things all day. If you don’t mind the possibility of a half-eaten cake pop accidentally slipping off its stick, they make for an attractive little party treat to hand away. They’re also delicious, to boot! I used Betty Crocker’s gluten-free yellow cake mix to make these cupcakes. As a result, with the exception of Batman’s ears, they are gluten free. Besides, even if you’re putting them in gluten-free hands, you may as well be allowed to nibble on a small piece of the cake while you’re putting them together. right? 1-pound bag vanilla candy coating morsels

Insert one triangular Twizzler piece into each side of the top of the ball, with the long side of the piece on the outer side of the head. Repeat with the other side of the ball. These are Batman’s ears, as you can see. Place on a baking sheet lined with wax paper, cover, and chill in the refrigerator until stiff
  • Using a deep mixing basin, carefully melt vanilla candy coating in the microwave according to package guidelines. Once the candy coating is melted, mix in a little amount of yellow and pink candy coating colors to get a skin-tone effect. Begin with a small amount of money. You can always add more if you want.
  • Dip 1/4-inch of a lollipop stick into the candy coating mixture
  • put the stick directly into the cake ball on the other end from the ears. Repeat with the remaining lollipop sticks. Carefully dip the cake pop into the candy coating and blot off any excess with a paper towel. Make rapid work of it, but avoid using too much effort, or the cake ball will fall off the stick. Place one end of the stick in the Styrofoam block until it is firm, then set it aside to dry. Make the rest of the balls and then carefully melt the dark chocolate candy coating in a deep basin in the microwave according to the package guidelines. Add in the black candy coating coloring and mix well. Almost certainly all of it. In order to create a black hue, you may need to add blue coloring.
  • Dip the top half of the cake pop and then the backside of the cake pop in the black coating mixture. Allow the styrofoam block to dry before moving on.
  • Make Batman’s eyes by carefully squeezing yellow glitter decorating gel into the shape of bats. To create his mouth, use a black edible ink pen with a fine tip. Adorable

To be quite honest, I’m not a huge fan of comic books.I never had a large collection of their comic books or a large collection of their artifacts in my possession.I didn’t even realize comic books were considered collectibles till I was much older (the only ones available to me at the time were Archie comics).

  • I was born in the United States but spent a significant portion of my youth in Sri Lanka, so I didn’t have access to or even awareness of these comics.
  • My TMNT fandom was intense, though (I was an actual member of the TMNT fan club, thankyouverymuch).
  • T-shirts, lunch boxes, water bottles, and even bed coverings with the TMNT on them were some of the things I possessed.
  • The only superheroes I was familiar with were the very mainstream ones that were on television at the time, such as Batman and Robin (thanks to countless reruns of Adam West’s show from the 1960s, which I absolutely loved at the time and still laugh at whenever I see it on one of those obscure tv channels on weekends), Superman (I may or may not have had a slight obsession with Christopher Reeves), X-Men, and The Incredible Hulk (the one with Lou Ferrigno from the late 70s).
  • And I was dead set on having a vintage superhero themed wedding, complete with a wedding cake that featured the Hulk (my husband’s favorite character) destroying one half of the cake!
  • I wanted superhero PEZ dispensers for our guests to take home as party favors, and I wanted our wedding photographs to have a superhero theme as well!

I’ve gone a little geeky with cake pops on this blog before – take a look at these Homer Simpson cake pops from a few months ago for example.When it comes to making these, you can use ANY KIND of cake you want (homemade or store-bought).Because Deadpool is such a colorful badass, I’m making a vanilla cake with Funfetti frosting to celebrate him.So grab some Chimichangas, and maybe sneak in some cake pops (I said maybe), and go watch Deadpool this weekend if you’re a fan of the comic book character as well!(SAVE THIS FOR LATER) Bakerella and my own personal experience have provided the following video tutorial: VIDEO TUTORIAL TIPS FOR GREAT CAKE POPS You should always add frosting a little at a time, mixing it thoroughly after each addition until the cake crumbs begin to stick together, regardless of the recipe instructions.In either case, the cake pops will be too soft and too sweet; in either case, if there is insufficient frosting, the cake pops will crumble when placed on a cake pop stick.

CRUSH the cake with a rolling pin.It is necessary to crush it.If you don’t completely crush it, the cake will not bind.

  • Cake pop ″dough,″ on the other hand, is more forgiving if you use a little extra frosting and you can incorporate mini chocolate chips and funfetti sprinkles (like I have).
  • Keep the cake pops in the freezer until they are FIRM (but not frozen) before attaching them to the popsicle stick with the toothpick.
  • This is the method that I have found to be the most effective for me.
  • Dip each stick in the melted chocolate and then insert the cake pop.
  • Since the cake pop is cold, it should help the chocolate harden up and grip the popsicle stick firmly.

Do this for all the cake pops first, allowing time for the cake pop to adhere properly to the popsicle stick.PLUS this allows the cake pop to get closer to room temperature again before dip it in the melted chocolate.Use paramount crystals, cocoa butter or vegetable oil to thin out the melted chocolate if it’s too thick.

  1. Thick and lumpy chocolate is your enemy.
  2. You want it to be thick but dippable, so you get a nice smooth coating.
  3. You don’t want to dip frozen, or very cold cake pops in the chocolate.
  4. Likewise, you don’t want to dip the cake pops in very hot melted chocolate.
  5. The cake pop and melted chocolate should be closer in temperature to prevent cracking as the chocolate hardens.
  • (FYI – cracks happen as the cake pop warms and expands, OR as the warm chocolate shrinks as it cools down).
  • When you dip the cake pops IN the chocolate, fully submerge it in the chocolate.
  • Don’t “twirl” the cake pop in the chocolate – just move it around slightly to get an even coating.
  • IF the cake pop doesn’t fully submerge, use a spoon or other utensil to pour the chocolate over the cake pop.
  • DO NOT shake the cake pop to get rid of excess chocolate.
  • Tap the wrist or hand that you are holding the cake pop with, which helps shake off excess chocolate gently.
  • So with those tips in mind – you should get perfect cake pops every time!
  • And even if you get a couple wrong, no worries!

  • 7 oz / 200g butter
  • 7 oz / 200g sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 6 oz /170g self-rising flour
  • 8 inch round cake made from a boxed cake mix


  • 3 1/4 – 1 cup funfetti (you may use 1 cup if you want it to be more colorful)
  • 5 oz melted butter
  • 7 oz/200g icing sugar confectioners sugar
  • pinch of salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup funfetti (if you want it to be more colorful)

Cake pops

  • A bag of red candy melts (there will be some leftover)
  • cake pop sticks or lollipop sticks
  • black and white fondant
  • corn flour for dusting
  • vodka for cleaning
  • water to attach fondant onto cake pops (optional).


  • Prepare an 8-inch cake pan by lining it with parchment paper. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit / 180 degrees Celsius.
  • Make the cake according to the directions on the box of cake mix. Pour enough cake batter into the prepared cake pan (any remaining batter can be used to create cupcakes if there is any leftover batter). Preparation: Bake according to package directions, allowing time for thorough cooling.
  • If you’re baking the cake from scratch, follow these instructions. Using a hand-held mixer or a stand-alone mixer, cream the butter, sugar, and salt together until frothy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, mixing in between each addition. Add in the vanilla extract as well.
  • Separately sift the flour into a large mixing basin. Add the flour to the butter-sugar mixture in two batches, mixing gently after each addition. Continue to mix until the flour is completely mixed.
  • Pour the batter into the 9-inch round baking pan that has been prepped and bake in the preheated oven until a cake tester or skewer put into the center of the cake comes out clean
  • about 30 minutes.
  • Remove the dish from the oven and set it aside to cool fully.

Frosting (makes approximately 1 ½ cups)

  1. Since this is a tiny amount of frosting, you may use a whisk to cream the butter with the salt and vanilla extract (but a hand held mixer would also work well for this).
  2. Add the powdered icing sugar in spoonfuls at a time, whisking after each addition.
  3. Once all of the sugar has been added, whisk the mixture quickly until it is light and fluffy in appearance.
  4. Make a mental note to put it away.

Cake pops

  • Using a large mixing basin, crumble the cooled cake. Toss the funfetti into the cake crumbs and mix well. Using a spoon or your hands, gently fold in about 1 cup of the frosting into the crushed cake until it is evenly distributed. There is no need to add any additional frosting if the mixture holds together when squeezed in your palm. If the mixture is still too dry, add additional frosting and thoroughly mix it in.
  • Scoop the cake pops into tiny portions and roll them into a ball or an egg form using a small scoop, if desired. This should be done softly, without squeezing too firmly. Place them on a baking sheet that has been lined. Afterwards, place them in the freezer for approximately 15 minutes, and then in the refrigerator until you are ready to produce the chocolate melts.
  • Prepare the chocolate melts according to the package instructions. If you’re microwaving the melts, do so in 15-second bursts, stirring between each one, until the majority of the chocolate has melted. Stir the remaining chocolate melts with a spoon until they are completely melted. Add additional melted shortening or paramount crystals to thin out the chocolate if it becomes too thick
  • continue to whisk until you get the desired consistency.
  • Wait around 5 minutes until the melts have cooled down to a temperature that is more in line with room temperature
  • Take the cake pops out of the refrigerator. Insert a cake pop stick into a cake pop mold after dipping the end of the stick in melted chocolate (about halfway into the cake pop). Place it back on the baking sheet and continue the process with the other cake pops. Next, starting with the first cake pop, dip each one in the melted chocolate coating. If you are unable to completely submerge the cake pop in the melted chocolate, use another stick or spoon to thoroughly coat it. A narrow glass or cup is therefore more appropriate, so that the cake pop may be completely buried in the coating. )
  • Following the dipping of each cake pop in the coating, lightly tap the hand that is holding the cake pop with your other hand to remove any excess coating. Placing this on a cake pop stand (or even a block of polystyrene) will allow it to set more quickly. Repeat this process with all of the cake pops and allow them to dry completely.

  • To begin, take a tiny piece of black fondant and roll it out thinly on a work surface (use cornstarch if it sticks to the surface). Select a circular cutter to cut out rounds for your cake pops

  • On adhere them to the black fondant pieces, use a little water (as in the gif). Gently press the button down
  • Spray water on the back of the black fondant piece and use it to attach the piece to the front of the cake pops if necessary
  • Gently push it down over the borders of the cake pops to ensure that it adheres nicely to the cakes. Allow it to dry completely before using it.
  • Make use of a tiny paintbrush to brush vodka onto the fondant pieces to eliminate any cornstarch that may have accumulated on them (this is optional). Allow them to dry

Holy… I’ve made my decision.The Dark Knight Rises, the concluding episode of Christopher Nolan’s Batman film series, will be released this week.For my friends and myself to enjoy on opening night, I created Batman-themed cake pops in celebration of this incredible climax to, in our view, the finest superhero films ever produced.Lemon cake sweetness is nestled inside a decadent dark and white chocolate shell.Isn’t he adorable?!I’m in love with the cake pop with the sign and the cape, to say the least!

  • Cake pops that are moist but not gooey are my favorite.
  • It’s strange, but eating these instead of, say, the ones from Starbucks makes you feel better since they don’t have the gooey, calorie-dense middle.
  • If you do not have a pan, and for some strange reason do not desire to acquire one, you may still create the dish by making a few modifications to the ingredients.
  • Make a regular cake (no extra egg, but still no milk or water) and mix in the pudding.
  • Break the cake crumbles into small pieces and mix in a frosting of your choice (I recommend either lemon or a lemon/vanilla mix so it isn’t too strong) into the cake crumbles, forming them into little cake spheres (optional).

  2. Dip the cake pop sticks in the melted chocolate and put them into the cake pops 3/4 of the way into the bottom of the pops.
  3. Make use of a stand or place the frozen fruit upside down in a dixie cup in the freezer.
  4. Allow for a few minutes of cooling time.
  5. Remove the cake pops from the freezer and coat each one with the chocolate mixture.
  • In a stand or a piece of floral foam, place the chocolate in the refrigerator for approximately five minutes, or until the chocolate has completely firm.
  • (I also recommend that you get the cake pop stand.) It is available at Bed Bath and Beyond or other places, but it is genuinely incredibly helpful—the $10 price tag is a tremendous bargain considering the amount of frustration you will avoid—trust me on this.) Fondant for the decorations In order to get it as thin as possible, I first rolled the fondant on a DRY surface before cutting out forms that reminded me of Batman: a cape, the city of Gotham (complete with windows AND a Batman symbol in the sky), and so on.
  • This, of course, may be customized to match any theme that is wanted.
  • Then, using a small amount of water on the back of the cake pop, carefully apply it to the surface of the cake pop to adhere it.
  • Place the container back into the refrigerator to harden.
  • Cake pops are fairly enormous, so I opted to put them in lollipop bags (large size is essential because the cake pops are rather large) and hand them out to friends as gifts.
  • Suran-wrap is a simple and effective alternative.
  • With a lemon cake pop in hand, the Trilogy watching experience was enhanced in some way.
