  • It’s time to talk about cake.
  • At this point, I’ve tried practically all of the cakes offered at Costco.
  • Tuxedo bar cake is today’s topic of discussion!
  1. This cake does not have the flavor of something that comes from the grocery store.
  2. I consume a lot of sweets, and I consider myself to be rather knowledgeable about cakes.
  3. This cake is in no way comparable to the dry, artificial-tasting cakes that you may buy at your local grocery shop.
  4. A rich and chocolaty cake, the Costco Tuxedo Cake has a flavor that is equivalent to a gourmet bakery cake, owing to the higher-quality components that were employed.
  5. You only need a little piece to be transported to a state of delicious, chocolaty bliss.
  • It’s a cake with several layers.
  • A dense, bold-flavored chocolate cake serves as the foundation for the rest of the cake, which is made up of several layers: a rich, creamy chocolate mousse with brownie/cake pieces in it; a vanilla/white chocolate cream mousse; and, finally, a thick, smooth dark chocolate ganache, which is decorated with cacao nibs and chocolate sticks (it’s quite fancy looking).
  • I honestly enjoy this cake so much that I’d rather eat it than some of the desserts available at our local bakeries (and we have some excellent bakeries in our city!).
  • This cake is sweet and rich, and it has a sumptuous taste to it.

Some people might think it’s a little too extravagant, but I’m certainly not one of those individuals.I cannot get enough of it and would cheerfully eat it as a birthday cake if I were given the opportunity. The mousse is my favorite portion of the dish.According to my calculations, the price is $16.99 Canadian, which I believe is a fairly acceptable price.

This cake should be enough to feed 10-12 people. As a point of comparison, we’ve purchased a chocolate cake for $48 Canadian from a posh (and pretty well-known) local bakery on a couple of occasions for special occasions. It’s a wonderful cake, but the Costco Tuxedo Cake is just as delicious in my opinion (although the style is a bit different).

  • As long as this chocolate cake is available at Costco, I don’t believe I’ll be willing to shell out the extra $30 for the other chocolate cake.
  • The Tuxedo Cake from Costco is packaged in a big, rectangular plastic container that can be readily resealed after it has been opened, making it a practical option.
  • This cake is really simple to slice and freezes beautifully.

I’m not sure I want to look up the nutritional statistics on this cake, because I don’t know what it is!Costco has not yet published the nutritional information for many of its bread products.I don’t see how this could possibly be low in calories, fat, or sugar, but at the very least you’ll be receiving excellent flavor to compensate.I know that cake is beneficial for my mood, so let’s imagine that a small piece of cake is really nutritious! For those of you who have been able to hold off on purchasing the Costco Tuxedo Cake until now, I can’t advise you enough to make it for your next special event, especially if you are a chocolate lover or have a sweet tooth.

There are various distinct kinds of tuxedo cake, but they all have a few things in common: they are all towering, majestic sweets that are a delectable combination of chocolate and vanilla in flavor and appearance. The exquisite hues of a tuxedo are represented by the dark chocolate and white vanilla. This recipe calls for layers of black and white cake, as well as chocolate and vanilla icing, to create a delectable and elegant dessert. While it appears to be a complicated recipe, we make it simple by utilizing a boxed cake mix. This tuxedo cake, which is sandwiched between layers of vanilla and chocolate icing and topped with a luscious layer of chocolate ganache, is perfect for a black tie event. For the White Cake Layers, prepare the following: Preparation: cooking spray, 1 (15 1/4-ounce) box white cake mix, 1 cup water, 1/3 cup vegetable oil, 3 egg whites
  • For the Chocolate Cake Layers, combine 1 (15 1/4-ounce) box devil’s food cake mix with 1 cup water, 1/3 cup vegetable oil, and 3 eggs in a large mixing bowl until well blended.
  • A mixture of 8 cups confectioners’ sugar, divided
  • 1 pound (2 cups) unsalted butter, melted and divided
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract, divided
  • 2 tablespoons milk, divided
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • and a pinch of salt.
  • For the Chocolate Ganache, combine 4 ounces semisweet baking chocolate, coarsely chopped
  • 1/3 cup heavy whipping cream
  • and a little amount of white chocolate for decoration.

Make the Cakes

  1. Gather all of the necessary components. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Cooking spray should be sprayed into four (8-inch) round cake pans. Remove from consideration.
  2. Prepare the white cake layers by baking them in the oven. Pour all of the ingredients into a large mixing basin and stir until everything is coated (about 5 minutes). 2 minutes at a medium speed is recommended.
  3. Divide the white cake batter between the two cake pans that have been prepared. Bake for 26 to 31 minutes, depending on your oven. When a toothpick placed in the center of the cakes comes out clean, the cakes are done.
  4. Allow for 15 minutes of chilling time in the pans before removing from pans to cooling racks. Allow the cake to cool fully before constructing it.
  5. Prepare the chocolate cake layers according per package directions. Using a large mixing basin, thoroughly blend the devil’s food cake mix, water, oil, and eggs until well combined. 2 minutes at a medium speed is recommended.
  6. Divide the chocolate cake batter between the two cake pans that have been prepared. Bake for 26 to 31 minutes, depending on your oven. When a toothpick placed in the center of the cakes comes out clean, the cakes are done.
  7. Allow for 15 minutes of chilling time in the pans before removing from pans to cooling racks. Allow the cake to cool fully before constructing it.

Make the Frosting and Assemble

  1. Prepare the buttercream by mixing all of the ingredients together. Mix together 4 cups of powdered sugar, 1 cup of butter, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence in a large mixing bowl fitted with a wire whisk until smooth.
  2. To blend, beat the ingredients together thoroughly. Add the milk a teaspoon at a time, mixing well after each addition, until the desired spreadable consistency is reached. Remove one-third of the white buttercream frosting and place it in a separate bowl.
  3. Add the cocoa powder to the remaining 2/3 of the batter that is still in the mixing bowl. To blend, beat the ingredients together thoroughly. Remove from consideration.
  4. The remaining 4 cups of powdered sugar, the remaining 1 cup of butter, and the remaining 1 teaspoon of vanilla essence should be combined in a large mixing bowl equipped with a wire whisk before proceeding. To blend, beat the ingredients together thoroughly. The milk should be added a spoonful at a time, stirring constantly, until the appropriate spreadable consistency is reached.
  5. Remove the rounded tops of the cakes with a serrated knife to create a flat surface for the cakes.
  6. Place one of the chocolate layers on a cake stand or serving dish, and repeat the process with the remaining layers. Half of the chocolate buttercream should be placed on top.
  7. One of the white cake layers should be stacked on top of the other. Place the other chocolate cake layer on top of the white buttercream and frost with about 1/4 of the remaining white buttercream. Place the last white layer on top of the chocolate buttercream and frost with the leftover chocolate buttercream. The leftover white buttercream should be used to frost the top and sides of the cake as well. Refrigerate for at least an hour, or until the buttercream is firm.

Decorate the Cake

  1. In a small saucepan set over low heat, melt the semisweet chocolate and whipping cream together until smooth and creamy. Cook, stirring regularly, until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth, about 3 to 5 minutes. Allow for 5 minutes of cooling time.
  2. Immediately pour the ganache mixture over top of the cold cake and allow it to flow down the edges of the cake.
  3. Sprinkle grated white chocolate (or white chocolate curls) over the top of the cake before serving. Serve immediately after removing from the refrigerator.
  4. Cut into slices and serve.

How to Store

  • The cake should be kept refrigerated once it has been frosted. If you’re going to be storing it for more than a few hours, wrap it in plastic wrap. The cake is best eaten fresh, but leftovers may be kept for a few days before becoming dry. You can prepare the cakes ahead of time and store them in an airtight container. Bake the cookies and allow them to cool fully before covering them firmly in plastic wrap. Immediately after preparation, decorate and serve, or freeze for extended storage.

What to Look for in a Tuxedo

  • The construction of a standard black suit and that of a tuxedo may appear to be quite similar, but it is the tuxedo’s distinctive embellishments, such as satin-faced lapels, leg stripes, and covered buttons, that elevate it to the summit of formal men’s clothing. No matter if you’re the groom, a groomsman, or a guest at a black-tie wedding, you can’t go wrong with an immaculately made tuxedo for the occasion. Furthermore, tuxedos are available in a variety of various forms, colors, and materials to suit a variety of diverse tastes. Are you looking for something that makes a statement? Make your choice from tuxedos made from vibrant designs and textured materials such as velvet and jacquard. Tuxedos with double-breasted jackets are a great choice for grooms who want classic designs with a bit of vintage flare. And for those with a more conventional sense of taste, a tried and true classic black tuxedo with a matching bow tie and a classic spread collar shirt will never go out of style, no matter how many times you wear it. A frequently asked question Is it mandatory to dress in a black tuxedo for a black-tie wedding? No! While black is the traditional color for formal tailoring, many grooms, groomsmen, and wedding guests prefer to dress in bright or eye-catching tuxedos for a black-tie affair.
  • Do you need to wear a cummerbund and vest with a tuxedo? It is totally up to you to decide! The cummerbund and vest are optional for certain wedding guests, who prefer a more contemporary and easygoing appearance.
  • Is it OK for me to wear a suit to a black-tie wedding? If you are invited to a wedding that requires black-tie clothing, you will most likely be asked to wear a tuxedo. If the wedding is not black tie optional, you may choose to wear a suit rather than a tuxedo.

Costco’s Kirkland Signature Tuxedo Cake Review

This is without a doubt the greatest bakery item available at Costco! It’s time to talk about cake once more!Previously, I evaluated the Costco Kirkland Signature Tiramisu Cake and the Costco Kirkland Signature Strawberry Shortcake.Tuxedo Cake from Costco is the subject of today’s review. At the risk of giving too much away about the remainder of this review, I believe this is the greatest cake that Costco has to offer!

Location in Store

The Kirkland Signature Tuxedo Cake may be found in the bakery department of Costco, in the refrigerator section near the entrance. The item’s identifier is 23135.

Taste

In the first place, this cake does not taste like it was purchased from a supermarket!I consume a lot of desserts, therefore I consider myself to be an expert on the subject of cake. The Tuxedo Cake available at Costco is nothing like the cakes available at your local grocery shop. The kind of cakes that are dry and with artificial-tasting frosting, you know what I’m talking about, right? This cake is rich and chocolaty, and you can tell it’s produced with high-quality ingredients because of the way it looks and tastes. You only need a little slice of the cake to be transported to a sweet and chocolaty paradise.

It is made up of a number of distinct layers. The bottom layer is made out of a rich chocolate cake with a strong taste. There’s also a delicious, creamy chocolate mousse with brownie chunks on top of everything.A vanilla/white chocolate cream mousse is the next course on the menu.Another layer of chocolate cake is sandwiched between the two previous layers.

  • Finally, a rich, silky dark chocolate ganache is used to finish it all off.
  • In addition to being exceedingly delicious, the cake’s top is covered with cocoa nibs and chocolate sticks, making it both visually beautiful and appetizing.
  • I honestly enjoy this cake so much that I would rather eat it than a cake from one of the excellent bakeries that my city has to offer!

Tuxedo Cake is a sumptuous dessert that is sweet, rich, and indulgent. Some people might find it overwhelming, but I personally can’t get enough of it and would cheerfully eat it as my birthday cake if given the opportunity. It’s not too rich for me, and the smooth, creamy mousse is a particular favorite of mine!

Cost

The pricing of the Tuxedo Cake is the same as the price of the Tiramisu Cake, which, in my opinion, is fairly affordable at $16.99 Canadian.Assuming that the pieces are of reasonable size, I could easily imagine this cake feeding 10 – 12 people, making it rather economical on a per-serving basis.I’ll reveal a little secret to you.In a premium neighborhood bakery, we’ve ordered a chocolate cake for $48 Canadian, which is one of their specialty goods.Even if it’s quite nice, it’s not $30 better than this cake! This isn’t even close!

To my taste buds, the Tuxedo Cake from Costco is equally as excellent as the cake from a fine bakery.

Convenience

In terms of product convenience, the Tuxedo Cake is unrivaled! This product is packaged in a rectangular plastic container that can be readily resealed after it has been unpacked. The cake is quite easy to slice and freezes beautifully..If you adore this cake as much as I do, there is no reason why you should save it until a particular occasion to purchase it.Simply cut it into individual pieces and place the slices in freezer-safe bags or containers to keep them frozen for later. After it has been frozen for approximately half an hour, I discover that it is ready to be consumed!

Nutrition

In one sixteenth of the cake (a 77-gram slice, which is around half of what you see in the photo above), there are 280 calories, 17 grams of fat, 29 grams of carbs, four grams of protein, and 190 milligrams of sodium in total.Even while that’s certainly not ideal, especially for such a tiny piece of cake, I don’t believe it’s significantly worse than the normal cake. One aspect of the Kirkland Signature Tuxedo Cake that I may fault is the ingredients list, which is lengthy and has a lot of fake and chemical-sounding substances. In fact, I already have the recipe for the fancy bakery cake that I described above, and it’s pretty much simply a long list of ingredients that you’d expect to see in a cake: butter, sugar, chocolate, cream, and so on.The only things that were bad about it were the minor quantities of vegetable oil and corn syrup that were in it.If there was something stated that you would have to go up on Google to figure out what it is, there was nothing listed.

Unfortunately, I can’t guarantee that this is true for all of the components in the Tuxedo Cake.

Scoring

10 out of 10 for taste 10/10 in terms of price 10 out of 10 for convenience. Nutrients: 1/10 (no cake is going to score highly in this category, but I don’t care for some of the components!)

Overall

This is a must-have!Nothing except positive things can be said about this dessert! You have to give it a go.In the event that you don’t like it, simply send the leftovers to me and I will gladly finish it for you!Which Costco cake is your favorite?Tell us in the comments below.

Tuxedo Cake

It is a handcrafted, thick chocolate cake with a double chocolate filling (both white and dark chocolate) and a swirled chocolate topping that is served with a cup of coffee. This luscious triple layer chocolate cake recipe is really wonderful, and it can be made for any celebration or event.

Triple Layer Tuxedo Cake Recipe

I have to admit that I have never considered myself to be a ″cake expert.″ ″There’s no way, Vera, you can accomplish this, it’s too complex,″ I’d say to myself whenever I saw those lovely photographs of cakes on the Internet.″You are not up to the challenge.″ To get started, you must be willing to accept the chance of tossing away a few cake layers or making the filling again.Since I created a stunning chocolate cake for my birthday, much to the joy of my visitors, I’ve been thinking about taking on a cake challenge more frequently.Okay, so my cake may not have been the most aesthetically beautiful, but it was very delectable. As a result, a few days ago, I discovered a new source of inspiration: tuxedo cake.Although the recipe was similar to my last cake, it was sufficiently distinct for me to enjoy it, and it looked absolutely fantastic.

The only thing left to do was come up with a good excuse to bake this chocolate treat and then get to work on time. After much deliberation, the following thought occurred to me: ″why is there a need for a reason?″ Simply said, we will all eat a delicious slice of chocolate cake, and that will be that.″ Of course, it wouldn’t be able to make it all the way without encountering difficulties. This time, the unfortunate victim was a newly cooked cake layer, which ended up on the kitchen floor as a result of my careless handling.Everything else went quite nicely, so the white chocolate filling had a better chance than the unfortunate layer:).

The Best Chocolate Cake Recipe

My new chocolate cake was ready in the blink of an eye, complete with a wonderful swirling chocolate icing on the top.Of course, it still didn’t look anything like the lovely cakes that you can find on Pinterest, but my opinion was that my tuxedo cake was a pretty good cake overall. And, as always, the flavor was great! As a result, my convicts, through no fault of their own, were able to experience this exquisite chocolate flavor, and I was motivated to continue my cake-baking trials. We’ll see how things go the next time around.Print

Tuxedo Cake – Costco Copycat

Go directly to the recipe.Tuxedo cake is a chocolate cake that is sandwiched between layers of dark chocolate mousse, white chocolate mousse, and fudgy brownie bits.Chocolate ganache is used to decorate the top of the cake. The inspiration for this dish came from the Tuxedo Chocolate Mousse Cake sold at Costco (Kirkland).Chocolate lovers will go crazy for this cake, which is one of my all-time favorites.

ASSEMBLY

  • This cake contains a large number of components, and as a result, it may be structurally unstable when it is assembled. To make construction easier, create a wall of aluminum foil around the cake layer and pour the mousses in through it. Despite the fact that they will set without pouring over the sides Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and oil and line two 8-inch cake pans with parchment paper before starting. In a small mixing basin, sift and combine the dry ingredients. Lightly cream the butter and sugar together until they are light and fluffy. Whisk in the eggs and vanilla extract until the mixture is light and fluffy. In a separate bowl, whisk together the oil and sour cream until well mixed. Fold in half of the dry ingredients first, followed by the buttermilk and coffee, and repeat. In a small bowl, whisk together the remaining of the dry ingredients until barely incorporated. The cakes should be baked for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out wet crumbs. Refrigerate for a few minutes in the tins before removing and cooling thoroughly on a wire rack. Prepare the brownie batter by sifting and stirring the dry ingredients. Melt the chocolate and the butter together. Whisk together the eggs, sugars, and vanilla extract until they are light and fluffy. Continue to whisk in the chocolate mixture until it becomes thick. Combine the dry ingredients by folding them in. Pour the batter into a greased and parchment paper-lined 9-inch loaf pan and bake for 45 minutes. 30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out with moist crumbs when removed from the oven. After a few minutes of sitting in the pan, transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Melt the chocolate and the butter together. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the egg whites, salt, and cream of tartar until firm peaks form. While whipping, slowly incorporate half of the sugar. In a double boiler, heat the cream until it forms stiff peaks. In a separate bowl, heat the eggs, sugar, and vanilla extract until thick and pale. Add in the chocolate mixture and blend well. In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg whites and cream until barely mixed. Pour the mixture over the prepared cake layer. Sprinkle the chopped brownie pieces on top. Take an hour to relax. Whip the cream until it forms firm peaks. Whip the cream cheese until it becomes lighter in color. Melt the butter and white chocolate together in a double boiler. (It is OK for it to split.) Whisk in the cream cheese until it is well incorporated. Fold in the cream until it is completely blended. Pour the mixture on top of the chocolate mousse layer. Place the top layer of cake on top of the bottom layer and refrigerate the cake overnight. Remove the foil and use a flat edge to wipe the edges of the pan. Melt the chocolate and cream together in a double boiler. Placing plastic wrap over the edge of the cake and then pouring the ganache over it Allow for at least 2 hours of chilling time before serving. The flavor of this cake improves with age. Enjoy!
