- However, when it came time to actually make the cake, it turned out to be one of the simplest desserts I’ve ever created.
How To Make an M&M anti-gravity cake:
Step 1:
- Make your cakes from scratch.
- For this cake, I used four to eight-inch layers of chocolate cake, stacked together.
- My son requested cake mix cake, so I made him one, but you could also make this chocolate cake recipe, which is another of my favorite chocolate desserts, if you want.
- I like to chill my cakes in the refrigerator for at least one night before serving them.
- (Sometimes I’ll prepare them ahead of time and freeze them.) I believe that working with cold cake is easier than working with room temperature cake.
- Why?
- Due to the fact that cold cake isn’t as soft as room temperature cake, it’s simpler to frost without having crumbs fall off everywhere.
- Is it necessary to build a cake with four layers of icing?
- In no way, shape, or form.
- I normally prefer the appearance of at least three layers, but I was also planning on filling the centre of this cake with M&M’s.
- I wanted the extra layers because much of the centre had been carved out and filled with candy, so I made two of these.
- Because I was using so many layers, I inserted a few straws into the cake to keep it from falling over (cut off the tops of the straws and push them down into the cake before frosting).
Step 2:
Decorate the top of your cake. I used a simple chocolate buttercream between the layers of the cake as well as on the outside of the cake to finish it off. In the event that your layers seem like bananas and you believe there is no way you can stack them and make them look nice, see my post on how to cure an unattractive cake.
Step 3:
When making the drip component of this cake, as I did, be sure you cool your cake first. For at least 2 hours, if not more than 24 hours. You want your buttercream to be extremely cold, if not frozen completely. In the event that you are not intending to make the drip component of the cake, you can skip to step 7.
Step 4:
- Prepare to be dripped on!
- There are a handful of different approaches you might use.
- I used many various colors of sugar melts to create a variety of drips since, quite simply, I had no idea what I was doing.
- If I had to make this cake again, I would create one batch of drip and paint it in the various colors with gel food coloring or candy food coloring (ordinary grocery store water food coloring would not work for this cake).
- The following is the basic drip ratio/recipe: 9 ounces of white candy melts down to 1/2 cup heavy cream in a double boiler.
- Bring heavy cream to a boil in a saucepan.

- Obviously, I choose the colors for the M&Ms, but the rest is up to you.
Step 5:
- It’s time to drip upside down!
- I had anticipated this to be far more difficult than it turned out to be.
- What’s the trick?
- Buttercream that is extremely chilly.
- Essentially, all you have to do is eat your cooled cake.
- Place an unused cake circle on top of your cake and decorate as desired.
- Removing the ″bottom″ cake board that has been placed on top of your cake is as simple as turning it over.
- Pour drips along the sides of the cake.
- Replace the ″bottom″ cake circle on top of the cake.
- Once more, flip the coin.
- Remove the other cake circle and place it in the refrigerator until the drips are set.

- I guarantee you, it’s not difficult; all you need is a little bit of self-assurance.
Step 6:
Top drips should be applied. This one is a lot less difficult. Take the cold cake out of the refrigerator. Colors are dripped along the border of the cake using a spoon top. Return the cake to the refrigerator to cool completely.
Step 7:
- The anti-gravity element of your cake should be constructed.
- Take a clean straw and put it in your mouth.
- For this project, I used a bendy straw because I loved the angle it provided.
- However, some people recommend using an extra-thick boba tea straw to create a thicker candy ″stream,″ but I found that a standard bendy straw worked just as well.
- Melt a handful of candy melts in a piping bag or zip-top bag until completely melted.
- Snip the very top of the iceberg.
- Stick the M&M’s to the straw’s body with the help of the melted chocolate, which acts as ″glue.″ Because a significant section of the straw will be inserted into the cake, you only need to complete the top half of the straw.
- Allow time for drying.
- Because melted chocolate doesn’t take very long to dry, you’ll probably just need a couple of hours to experiment with it.
Step 8:
Make a top border for your cake with piping gel. I piped a spiral border around the top of the cake with a Wilton 1M tip. You may pipe any type of border you like; just make sure it’s large enough to accommodate all of the M&M’s.
Step 9:
Toss in the M&M’s. Stack some M&Ms on top of your cake for a festive look. Don’t be stingy with your money. Set the straw in the center of the cake, and then place an empty M&M wrapper on top of the straw to complete the decoration.
Step 10:

Ingredients to make Gravity-defying cake:
- To prepare Sponge Cake, follow these steps: It is possible to use any cooking oil as long as it does not have a strong odor.
- Condensed Milk – This ingredient contributes to the cake’s rich flavor. However, thick yogurt or curd can be used in place of the cream. 1 cup thick yogurt plus 1 cup sugar, or if you don’t have a sweet tooth, 3 1/4 cup sugar will suffice.
- Vanilla Essence – adds a pleasant scent to the cake while baking.
- Maida (also known as all-purpose flour)
- Baking powder, baking soda, and salt are all ingredients in baking.
- To get the best flavor out of your cocoa powder, choose a good quality brand.
- Milk — You may use either full-fat or skimmed milk for this recipe.
- To create Chocolate Ganache, you’ll need the following ingredients: dark complex chocolate — You may use any brand of dark compound chocolate
- however, the best choice is Ghirardelli.
- Cream of tartar or cream of tartar with strong whipping
To produce sugar syrup, combine the following ingredients: water and sugar. The preparation of sugar syrup is entirely optional. Sugar syrup may be made by simply dissolving sugar in water and stirring it in. There is no need to heat it.
- Gravity cake was made with the following ingredients: Gems — I used 10 packets of Gems (Rs. 10 per packet). You may use any type of chocolate you choose.
- Choco Sticks — You can use any brand of chocolate sticks for this recipe. Alternatively, chocolate fingers or even Kit-Kat might be used. If you’re using Kit-Kat, you’ll only need one sponge cake to match the height of the Kit-Kat
- otherwise, you’ll need two sponge cakes.
- Plastic Straw with a firm grip

Cooking tips:
- Start making the sponge cake a day ahead of time. Allow it to cool completely before using it. Wrap it tightly in cling film and store it in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. It helps to stiffen up the sponge cake, making it simpler to work with
- I prefer to create the chocolate ganache the day before to make it easier to work with. Allow the ganache bowl to sit at room temperature for 2 hours before using. After that, wrap it in cling wrap and place it in the refrigerator overnight.
- The ganache will thicken the following day, making it simpler to work with the following day.
- Chop the chocolates finely in order to prepare Ganache. It will aid in the rapid melting of the chocolate
- You can totally omit the sugar syrup from the recipe. Alternatively, to make the cake moist without using sugar syrup, use simply water.
- After you’ve stuck the chocolate stick and jewels into the cake, place it in the refrigerator. If this is not done, the chocolate sticks will get mushy.

Making a Chocolate Sponge Cake is the first step.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the oil, condensed milk, and vanilla extract. 1 and 2: Sift the dry ingredients together, a bit at a time. (All-purpose flour

- cocoa powder
- all-purpose flour (See images 3 and 4) Combine it with the wet ingredients. (See images 5 and 6)
- Pour in the milk and stir well. It is important not to overmix the components. (Image 7) Sift the remaining dry ingredients and combine them with the wet components. •The batter for the chocolate cake is finished baking. (See picture 8)
- Pour the mixture into the cake tin and gently tap it to eliminate any air bubbles that may have formed. (Image 10) Bake it for 30 minutes at 180 degrees Celsius in a preheated oven for 30 minutes. Because every oven is different, the times may differ.
- The sponge cake is ready to be served. Allow for a 5-minute cooling period. (Image 11) Use a knife to release the sides of the mold and unmold it. Allow it to cool completely before using it. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours once you’ve wrapped it in cling wrap as seen in image 12. It is preferable to prepare the sponge cake the day before.
Step 2: Constructing the Chocolate Ganache
- Water is heated in a vessel over a low heat source. Place a heat-proof dish filled with 2 cups of finely chopped chocolate on top of the pan and set aside. (Image 13) Melt the chocolate in a small saucepan over low heat. Continue to stir it to ensure that the heat is distributed evenly. (See Fig. 14).
- Remove the pan from the heat once the chocolate has melted.
- 1 cup heavy cream should be added to the heated chocolate and mixed well. Image 15: The chocolate ganache is completed. (See picture 16)
- Allow it to rest for 2-3 hours at room temperature to allow the flavors to blend. Alternatively, you may prepare it the day before. Refrigerate the bowl after it has been covered with cling film.
Making the Gravity Cake is the third step.
- Using a knife, cut the sponge cake in two. For this cake, I cooked two sponge cakes, one for each layer. (Image 17) Sugar syrup is made by dissolving 2 teaspoons sugar in 1/4 cup water. (Optional).
- Chocolate ganache should be applied with a palette knife. (See figure 18) Place the second half of the sponge cake on top of it and press down. (Image 19)
- Continue the process until the last layer of sponge cake is placed
- Cut a slanting cut into the top layer to create a falling impression. This is a fully optional step to do. If you are a newbie, you may skip this step
- the crumb coat has been completed. Allow approximately an hour of cooling time in the refrigerator. (Image 20) After an hour, remove it from the refrigerator and spread chocolate ganache on top of it to finish. It is not necessary to apply it neatly (see figure 21). It will be coated with chocolate sticks and jewels
- begin by placing the chocolate sticks in place. (Image 22) If you are having trouble adhering the chocolate sticks to the cake, you can cover them in chocolate ganache and adhere them to the cake. Set it aside for now. (Images 23 and 24) Place a paper napkin inside the jewels package that has been left open. This will give the impression that the package is brimming with diamonds. Set it aside for now. In the next images (images 25 and 26), take a plastic straw and spread a thick layer of chocolate ganache over it
- adhere the jewels chocolate. Allow it to rest in the refrigerator for a while. Beginning at the edge of the cake (images 27 and 28), begin attaching the jewels chocolate pieces. (Image 29) Spread ganache on the bottom of the cake and adhere the jewels. Insert the straw into the chocolates (see images 30 and 31). Using two skewers from the centre of the straw, you may provide extra rigidity to the structure (see figure 33).
- Apply ganache on the top of the straw and set aside. Place the jewels package on top of it.
- Fill in the remaining straw on the apron with diamonds.
- Gravity cake is ready to be served. Serve and take pleasure in it!

- Using a palette knife, spread the chocolate ganache on half of the sponge cake
- top with the other half of the sponge cake.
- Repeat the process until the last layer of sponge cake is placed
- a slanting cut should be made in the top layer to create the appearance of a falling effect. This is a fully optional step to do. If you are a newbie, you may skip this step.
- The crumb coat has been completed. Allow it to set in the refrigerator for an hour
- after an hour, remove it from the refrigerator and spread chocolate ganache over it
- there is no need to smooth it out perfectly. It will be adorned with chocolate sticks and jewels, as well.
- Start by adhering the chocolate sticks to the cake. If you are having trouble sticking the chocolate sticks to the cake, spread chocolate ganache over it and adhere it to the cake. Remove it from the table and place a paper napkin inside the empty jewels packet. The envelope will appear to be brimming with precious stones. Toss it to the side

Ingredients
- 1x 20cm chocolate fudge cake
- To make the buttercream, combine the following ingredients: The ingredients include 250 grams of butter, 250 grams of icing sugar, 200 grams of melted chocolate, and 3 tablespoons vanilla bean paste.
- For decorating, we used three huge bags of M&Ms, two packs of chocolate finger biscuits, and twenty grams of dark chocolate.
How to make an anti gravity cake:
Step 1:
- Prepare and bake your chocolate cake, then set it aside to cool completely.
- Meanwhile, prepare the buttercream by first whipping the butter and then pressing the icing sugar into the butter with an electric whisk before finishing with the whisk.
- This prevents the formation of a large icing cloud and helps to minimize mess.
- Make a splodge of buttercream on the cake plate, which will assist to keep the cake in place while it bakes.
Step 2:
Completely cover the cake with buttercream by filling it halfway with buttercream and covering the remainder of it with buttercream. Spread chocolate fingers along the perimeter of a circular cake, leaving an opening at the bottom.
Step 3:
Take two large straws and put one of them into the other to make it a little longer. Once it’s in the cake, you may cut it to the proper length using a sharp knife. Incorporate the straws into the cake as much as possible.
Step 4:
Make indentations in the buttercream around the straws and along the front of the cake with the M Ms.
Step 5:
- Microwave the dark chocolate in short bursts, stirring in between, until melted and smooth, then set it aside to cool.
- In addition, when it cools down, the consistency thickens, creating a cement-like texture for attaching the M M’s to the straws.
- Alternatively, if the chocolate gets too thick, heat it briefly in the microwave for a few seconds to remelt it.
- Attach a M M to the back of each M M with a dot of chocolate.
Step 6:
Attach the sweets to the straws with toothpicks. You can cut your hair to whatever length you like. Finally, place the empty bag on the end of the straws and secure it in place. Mine stayed in place on its own, but if you’re having difficulties, you may use a small amount of chocolate to hold it in place.

- 200g cocoa powder
- 4 tablespoons chocolate powder
- 2 tablespoons milk

Method
- STEP 1: Preheat the oven to 180°C/160°C fan/gas mark 1. 4. Grease and line two 20cm cake pans with baking paper – if your cake tins are shallow, line the edges with baking parchment to a depth of at least 5cm. 5. Bake for 20 minutes at 180°C. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, bicarbonate of soda, sugar, and 1 teaspoon salt. Stir thoroughly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the cake has risen and a skewer put into the center comes out clean, until the cake has risen and the skewer comes out clean. - STEP 5Melt the remaining 50g chocolate in the microwave or in a small dish hung over a pan of slowly boiling water, whatever method is most convenient for you. Allow the chocolate to cool until it has reached a spreadable consistency. STEP 6Put a skewer into the core of the cake and slip the straw over the top – this will give it more solidity. You may speed this up by placing it in the fridge – just mix it every 5 minutes or so to avoid the chocolate from solidifying
- Insert the straw into the cake around 1-2cm into it. Spread a dab of chocolate over a Smartie using a cutlery knife then, starting at the base, attach the Smarties to the straw with a cocktail stick. In order to allow the chocolate to set a little before adding another layer of Smarties, you’ll have to do this in stages. Cover the straw fully, starting with the bottom and working your way up. It’s simple to reheat the chocolate in your bowl if the consistency gets too hard. Just keep heating until the desired consistency is achieved.
