How to use Angel Food Cake Pan

    • The following is an example of how to use an angel food cake pan presentation.
    • Maybe you want to try your hand at making that ring-shaped cake, or maybe you’re simply curious as to whether it tastes any different from the typical round cake.
    • You’ve arrived to the correct location.

Today, I’m going to show you how to use an angel food cake pan, which is also known as a tube pan in certain circles. As previously said, the tube pan allows you to bake a ring-shaped cake with the help of the detachable bottom that is attached to the middle tube. Not only are you baking a cake that is really beautiful, but you are also baking it considerably more quickly.Due to the detachable bottom that is attached to the central tube, heat is transferred to the center of the cake in the latter case.As a result, the cake will cook more quickly.

How to use an angel food cake pan with a removable bottom

    • Sensitive cake recipes necessitate the use of delicate equipment.
    • A Bundt cake pan should not be used while baking an angel food cake, which is one of the types of cakes that are made using egg whites instead of flour.
    • You would simply become more frustrated if you did so.

Angel food and chiffon cakes require a tube pan due to the fact that they are made primarily of egg whites and contain very little flour.Because there is less gluten in the batter, it requires a larger surface area to cling to and hence rise.In any other case, the cake would collapse during baking and turn into a thick mass.I’m sure that’s not something you’d want to find yourself in the middle of!The reason for using an angel food cake pan whenever a recipe asks for one should be clear by this point in the discussion.

You’ll also note that a tube pan has a few distinguishing characteristics, such as straight sides and a bottom that can be removed. In addition, there are normally three feet on the top of the pan, which allows the pan to be flipped over and cooked upside down. The straight sides of the cake will give a bigger surface area for the cake to clink against as it bakes, causing it to rise in the process.

    1. An angel food cake pan with a detachable bottom is rather simple to use, with the exception of the fact that you may have to come up with creative ways to remove a stuck cake without ruining it.
    2. In a little while, I’ll reveal the tip that I’ve found to be consistently effective.
    3. First, let’s talk about how to properly utilize the cake pan.

Step 1: Place a rack in the lower third of your oven and preheat to 350 degrees.

    • A baking sheet should be placed in the lower-middle section of your oven.
    • When you preheat your cake pan, you can be confident that you will neither overbake or underbake it, which might happen if your cake pan is not properly prepared.
    • If you’re making angel food cake, the temperature should be between 300 and 325 degrees Fahrenheit.

If you’re baking a chocolate chip or marble cake, you can raise the temperature to 375°F if you want to.

Step 2: Prepare the pan with butter and flour.

    • Following that, you’ll need to prepare your angel food cake pan by greasing it thoroughly with butter (approximately a tablespoon per cup of batter will suffice) and then thickly dusting the insides with white flour before pouring the batter in to bake.
    • Two factors account for this: first, there is something known as ″the devil’s cauldron,″ which prevents air from escaping while baking, resulting in the center not rising as much as it would if it were allowed to expand freely like other cakes; and second, the devil’s cauldron restricts the amount of air that can escape while baking.
    • Another disadvantage of whipping egg whites stiffly is that they are more likely to develop bubbles, which will interfere with the rising process.

The use of grease and flour helps to prevent this by ensuring that your egg whites are as smooth and free of air bubbles as possible.

Step 3: Gently tap the pan on the counter to release air pockets, then bake for about 25 minutes in a 350° oven.

When it’s done, you should be able to poke a toothpick into the middle of the cake without any batter adhering to the toothpick. This normally takes around 25 minutes for angel food cake, although the time might vary depending on how many eggs were used per cup of sugar (the more eggs, the fluffier the cake) and whether or not other ingredients such as chocolate chips are used.

Step 4: Last but not least, make sure the angel food cake cools completely in its pan before trying to remove

Depending on the size of your cake, this might take anywhere from an hour to several hours, but it is well worth the wait. If you take the angel food cake out of the oven too soon, all of the beautiful air will escape, causing it to become tough or dry.

How to remove the cake from the tube pan without smashing it

    • Now that your cake is finished, how can you get it out of the pan without shattering it?
    • Here’s how it’s done: The first step is to turn the cake upside down and allow it to cool completely.
    • This permits the cake to keep its volume by trapping air in the fluff on top of the cake’s surface.

After it has cooled, turn the cake over and place it right side up again. You will need to run a knife around the central tube and along the outside border of the tube on the inside only sparingly. The purpose of this step is to loosen the cake that has become stuck to the pan surface.Pull the cake out of the angel food cake pan while holding the tube in one hand and set it over an inverted baking pan or a flat, clean surface with the other. To separate the bottom of the cake from the top of the cake, use a knife sparingly between the two.

Finally, flip the cake over a platter or the plate that will be used to serve it and twist and raise the middle tube to free it from its position.Your cake is now complete and ready to be served.Nota bene: You may have noticed that we didn’t make any effort to keep the cake from adhering to the pan.

    1. The same result might have been obtained by just greasing the pan, but there is a good reason to refrain from greasing an angel food cake pan!
    2. If you oil or grease the pan, the batter will not adhere to the surface and will rise to the surface instead.
    3. The cake will not rise if it does not adhere to the pan, resulting in a flat cake.
    4. How to Make an Angel Food Cake in a 2-Piece Pan It is the same as using a pan with a detachable bottom when making an angel food cake, because the removable base is the second component of the cake pan in this case.

What we didn’t disclose is that the batter has a tendency to leak from time to time.Angel food cake pans are designed to produce angel food cakes that do not spill batter from the bottom when they are baked. If you try to make a pound cake, the batter will fill up all of your oven racks, but there is a technique to get around this.In the first instance, you can lay a sheet pan on the lower rack or use aluminum foil to wrap the bottom of the cake pan.

    1. A few of other techniques that I’ve discovered to be effective include cutting a circle out of a shopping bag and sandwiching it between the two parts before putting them back together.
    2. Greasing the pan all around the leaky rim and then scattering breadcrumbs on top to absorb the grease would be another brilliant technique.
    3. These crumbs absorb the wet batter, resulting in a viscous mass that doesn’t leak when it is baked.
    4. When it comes to sealing the leaky rim, some customers recommend using kitchen wax paper instead of a supermarket bag.

Other uses for an angel food cake pan

    • As previously stated, if a recipe specifies that an angel food cake pan be used, you should use that pan exclusively.
    • However, this does not rule out the possibility of using the pan for other baking projects.
    • Also included was a comparison between a Bundt pan and an angel food cake pan, as the two are very similar.

As a result, an angel food cake pan may be used to make any cake that would otherwise need a Bundt pan.The use of a tube pan is highly recommended for baking a thick cake since the toppings will be readily placed on the bottom of the cake once it has been inverted from the pan.Another scenario is if you have difficulty removing the cake from the pan.As a result, the detachable bottom will make your task easier and will offer the ring form to your standard cake.

More information may be found here.Have you ever tried to bake an angel food cake in a cake pan instead of an angel food cake pan?We have a feeling you’ll end up with a light and airy cake that is adorned with gorgeous fruits and decorations.Purchase a single-use pan as soon as possible and store it in your kitchen. It’s perfectly OK to select either a food cake pan or a tart pan with a detachable bottom!

Let’s first figure out why you’d want a one-tube pan in the first place.

Why do you use an angel food cake pan, tart pan?

    • As you may be aware, angel food cake is a light and fluffy white cake with a delicate texture.
    • There is no baking soda in this recipe to leaven it.
    • The cake is reliant on the steam and air that is incorporated into the egg whites during the beating process.

Your cake may stick to the sides of the pan as a result of the moisture in the batter. After being removed from the oven, the cakes will require the assistance of the pan’s walls and tube in order to avoid collapsing completely.Furthermore, this aluminum pan provides you with a more delicate angel food cake than you could have imagined. As previously stated, it rises and bakes evenly as a result of the pan’s excellent heat conductivity. The inclusion of a detachable bottom and higher legs, in addition, is ideal for enhanced cooling when used upside down.

What is the reason behind this? After you have reversed the cake, the three linked legs along the rim will elevate the cake.Furthermore, the detachable bottom makes it easier to remove the cake from the pan.

    1. The pan has a unique shape that makes it possible to create the tastiest angel food cake without a doubt.
    2. Its center tube helps the cake to rise to the maximum height feasible.
    3. Not only that, but the aluminum layer also ensures that heat is distributed quickly and evenly for the finest possible outcomes.
    4. The fact that you need be careful when preparing an angel food cake is also vital to note.

The cake’s ability to rise evenly will be influenced by a number of things. The pan’s form and material are both important considerations. Each side should be straight, and it cannot be constructed of a nonstick substance on any of its sides. This will ensure that your cake readily grabs the pan and rises to the top.

    1. Furthermore, because the cake must be allowed to cool before it can be served, a nonstick bottom helps to guarantee that it remains securely in the pan.
    2. Last but not least, although an angel food cake is not difficult to create, it is difficult to bake.
    3. Make certain that the pan is clean of oil and completely dry before beginning.

How to use an angel food cake pan with a removable bottom?

    • Step 1: Make sure that you coat the interior area of the tube pan with cooking spray or Baker’s Joy before you begin baking.
    • If you just have basic spray on hand, you might try dusting the interior of the can with flour.
    • If you use Baker’s Joy, there is no need to do this because the cooking spray is already included in the package.

Step 2: Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit or the temperature specified in the recipe, whichever is higher.Step 3: Prepare the batter according per package directions. The bottom of your cake pan should be completely covered with aluminum foil.In addition, the foil should extend 3 inches over the outer layer of the pan on each side of the pan.Making use of tube pans helps to keep them from leaking throughout the baking process.

To finish the cake, bake it for 45 to 60 minutes at 350 degrees.Alternatively, bake the cake until a thin knife can be inserted into it and come out cleanly.Step 5: Leave the cake in the pan and turn it upside down for 10 minutes to cool completely.

    1. For ordinary cakes, of course.
    2. Allow it to sit in the pan for a further 10 minutes before transferring it to a platter.
    3. Following these instructions will help you remove an angel food cake from its baking pan.
    4. Step 6: Take the cake out of the shape.

After that, turn the pan upside down and place it on the legs or on the top of a bottle with the neck of the bottle passing through the tube. When you do this, your cake will hold its shape more securely once it has cooled.Furthermore, because you did not spray the angel food cake pan before baking it, it will not collapse until you remove it from the oven.Step 7: Invert the entire cake pan so that it is right side up.

    1. Next, using a knife, carefully lift the cake off the edges of the pan and around the tube of frosting.
    2. Place the tube pan on top of a plate.
    3. Your cake will come out of the pan with the bottom insert still attached to what would be the top of the cake when it has cooled completely.
    4. Keep the knife moving between the bottom insert and the top of the cake to loosen the cake up as much as possible.
    5. After that, carefully lift it off of your cake.
    • Is it necessary to use a tart pan with a detachable base?

    Step 1:

    • Step 1: Make sure that the interior area of the tube pan is coated with cooking spray or Baker’s Joy before beginning.
    • Consider coating the interior of the can with flour if you just have basic spray on hand.
    • Because Baker’s Joy already contains cooking spray, there is no need to go through this step.

To begin, preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit, or follow the recipe’s instructions for the specific temperature.Third, make the batter according to package directions.Prepare your cake pan by wrapping aluminum foil over the bottom of the pan.In addition, the foil should extend 3 inches over the outer layer of the pan on each edge on every side.As a result, the tube pans will not leak while the baking process is underway.

Bake the cake for 45 to 60 minutes at a moderate temperature. For a more rustic appearance, bake it until a thin knife can easily be inserted and come out clean. The cake should be allowed to cool upside down for 10 minutes after it has been removed from the pan in Step 5.

    1. When it comes to ordinary cakes After 10 minutes, remove it from the pan and set it aside on a serving dish.
    2. Following these instructions will help you remove an angel food cake from its baking dish.
    3. Remove the cake from its form in Step 6.
    4. Afterwards, invert the pan upside down onto its legs or on top of a bottle with its neck inserted into the tube to complete the process.

In this way, your cake will hold its shape more securely as it cools.Furthermore, because you did not spray the angel food cake pan before to baking it, it will not collapse until you remove it from the oven.Seventh step: Invert the entire cake pan onto a flat surface. Then, using a knife, carefully lift the cake away from the pan’s edges and around the tube.

    1. Place the tube pan on a plate and set the plate on top of the tube pan.
    2. As a result of the bottom insert clinging to the top of the cake after it is baked, your cake will fall out of the pan.
    3. Keep the knife moving between the bottom insert and the top of the cake to loosen the cake up a little bit.
    4. Continue by lifting the cake from underneath it.
    5. a tart pan with an easy-to-remove base is recommended?

    In conclusion

    • We’re willing to guess that you’ve already mastered the usage of an angel food cake pan and a tart pan with a detachable bottom!
    • However, bear in mind that no matter whatever pan you purchase, it should be heavy-duty and have a nonstick coating on the bottom.
    • If you’re worried about the tart adhering to the pan, this will provide some protection.

How to Turn Any Pan Into an Angel Food Cake (or Bundt Cake!) Pan

    • Now that you’ve found the right summer berries and read the definitive step-by-step instructions, you’re ready to take on angel food cake, the lightest dessert known to man.
    • However, you quickly discover that you do not have an angel food cake pan.
    • And why would you want to?

Angel food cake pans are a bit of a one-trick pony, and they’re certainly not a pan that you should have on hand in your baking arsenal. The problem is that you actually can’t create angel food cake without one of these tools.I’m quite aware of what you’re thinking.Make no mistake about it: making angel food cake in a bundt pan is not a good idea. The pattern of a bundt pan is typically too elaborate for angel food cakes, which must be cut away from the basic tube pans in which they are baked once the cake has cooled to prevent the cake from crumbling.

Instead, get an empty LaCroix (or Spindrift) can and fill it with water. Then, using a trick I learned from Mary Berry on the second American season of The Great British Baking Show Masterclass, I proceeded to hack an angel food cake pan.I know it works since I tried it in the Epi Test Kitchen and it worked well.

    1. Here are the specifics:
See also:  How To Remove Cake From Pan Without Breaking?

    1. Wrap parchment paper around an empty aluminum can

I discovered that a tall, slim drink can (something like this) works best for me. Secure the parchment with a piece of double-stick scotch tape, making sure that the parchment just just overlaps the tape itself. Excess paper should be trimmed away.

    2. Fill can with a weight

Using water is the simplest option; however, you could also use grains, dry beans, or pie weights to get the same result. Fill the can halfway with your selected weight and set it aside.

    3. Place the can in the center of a non-non-stick springform pan

    • As with any angel food cake, it’s critical to use a pan that doesn’t have a nonstick coating while preparing this one since the dough will adhere to the sides of the pan as it rises.
    • A non-stick surface would hinder the cake from attaining its optimal high and fluffy state of perfection.
    • The pan should also have the same diameter as the one specified in the recipe as well.

It should also have detachable sides to make cleaning easier.

Do I need an angel food cake pan?

    • Unlike other types of cakes, angel food cakes have the distinct characteristic of always being the same size and form.
    • While it is possible to make smaller versions of angel food cakes in loaf pans or cupcake pans, a 9- or 10-inch tube pan with a detachable bottom is the most common pan used for angel food cakes.
    • A lot of people who have never created an angel food cake at home wonder if there is anything special that has to be done in order to produce a decent angel food cake.

Yes, it is correct.Angel food cakes are essentially foam cakes, and while there is some flour in the batter to provide softness and to aid in holding the cake together, the majority of its body comes from the beaten egg whites used in the recipe. As the cake bakes in the oven, the air pockets in the egg whites expand, lifting the cake off the pan.Using this pan, you can ensure that your cake is baked uniformly and that it rises to its maximum height. The tube design, which features a hollow core in the middle of the cake, allows heat to be distributed uniformly throughout the cake, resulting in the outside edge of the cake being done before the center of the cake.

This is especially critical when baking an angel food cake (although other pans, such as the Baker’s Edge, work on a similar basis), because the cake is incredibly fragile throughout the baking process and requires all of the assistance it can receive to rise. The pan’s material and shape are two more aspects that contribute to the cake’s ability to rise. The pan’s sides must be straight and should not be constructed of a nonstick substance in order to function properly.

    1. Having the cake ″grab″ the pan and then ″pull″ itself out of the pan is essential for a successful release.
    2. Because the fragile cake must be allowed to cool upside down in order to prevent it from collapsing, a nonstick surface will also guarantee that the cake remains securely in the pan during this time of cooling.

Removable Bottom Tube Pan Pound Cake

    • Advertisement The week before the holidays, I discovered (the hard way) that my detachable bottom tube pan spills batter during baking.
    • It works fine for angel food cake batter, but when I tried to bake a pound cake with it, the batter leaked out all over the place.
    • Thank heavens I’d placed a sheet pan on the lowest rack before I started.

There was some scorched batter in the mix, but the cake turned out OK.

Preventing Leaks with Removable Bottom Pan

This week, I decided to make another pound cake in a removable bottom tube pan, and I looked into some popular methods for preventing leaks along the way.A common method involves wrapping the bottom of the pan with aluminum foil, much like you would for a springform pan that will be placed in a water bath.In addition, there were numerous inventive ideas on Food 52, such as the use of a circle of cut grocery bag to connect the two sections. After that, I’ll test it out again, but I’m going to try something different this time.

    1. Using soft bread crumbs all around the area where the two parts come together, I greased the pan and dusted it with flour before baking.
    2. I also baked it on a baking sheet with a rim to be extra safe.
    3. The bread crumbs worked, but I’ll try the grocery bag trick that Donna W.

mentioned on Food 52 the next time I make this.In any case, the cake was delectable. Here’s how to make it.While it looks and tastes similar to another favorite, Mary Jo Bowen’s Best Pound Cake Ever, it calls for all-purpose flour instead of cake flour (and more of it).

There are also a couple of additional pound cake recipes that can be made in a removable bottom pan that I’ve included below.

Removable Bottom Tube Pan Pound Cake

A large pound cake made with sour cream and cooked in a tube pan with a detachable bottom. Preparation time: 20 minutes Cooking time: 1 hour and 30 minutes 2 hours are required for cooling. Dessert as a course American cuisine is a type of cuisine that originated in the United States. Pan with a Removable Bottom Tube

    • 3 cups sifted unbleached all-purpose flour (380 grams)
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, at room temperature (230 grams)
    • 3 cups sugar (600 grams)
    • 6 large eggs, separated into yolks and whites
    • 1 cup sour cream (230 grams)
    • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
    • 1 teaspoon pure almond extract
    • 3 cups sifted unbleached all-purpose flour (380 grams)
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
    • 3
    • Preheat the oven to 300 degrees Fahrenheit. If you are aware that your pan leaks, grease a 10 inch detachable bottom tube pan and take the necessary steps to avoid leaking.
    • Combine the sifted flour, salt, and baking soda in a large mixing basin and well mix or sift again
    • In the bowl of a stand mixer fitted with the paddle attachment, cream together the butter and sugar on medium speed for about 5 minutes, or until fully combined.
    • Add the yolks one at a time, scraping down the sides of the bowl often.
    • Slowly incorporate the flour combination and the sour cream with the flavors into the butter mixture, beginning and finishing with the flour mixture.
    • Egg whites should be beaten until firm but not dry peaks form in a large clean mixing dish using clean beaters. In a separate bowl, whisk together one-third of the whites, then fold in the remainder
    • Spoon into the tube pan that has been prepared and level
    • Bake for 1 1/2 to 1 3/4 hours at 300 degrees Fahrenheit, or until a cake tester comes out clean.
    • Transfer the pan to a wire rack and allow it to cool for 5 minutes.
    • Separate the edges of the cake from the pan and from the tube using a long, thin knife.
    • Remove the cake from the pan and place it on a wire rack to cool fully.

This recipe is adapted from Marian Burros’ Cooking for Comfort. Recipes that are available online are quite similar to those in the book, with a few minor differences. There are two versions of this recipe: one uses unsalted butter and one uses 12 teaspoon salt, while the other uses 14 teaspoon salt. I strongly advise using a 12 teaspoon measure (unless you are using salted butter).

    • In the event that I had to choose a favorite dessert of all time and cheesecake was out of the question, Angel Food Cake would be a shoo-in for first place. It’s light and fluffy, with a soft texture and a sweet flavor that pairs perfectly with the abundance of fresh berries available at this time of year! If I’m being really honest, I put off making Angel Food Cake from scratch for years because I’d heard horror stories about how difficult it can be to obtain the exact amount of height in a homemade Angel Food Cake, and with boxed mixes so easily available, I opted for the easy way out. Due to the fact that cake mixes are non-existent in Europe, I’ve had to polish my handmade Angel Food Cake recipe. I’m delighted to report that my assumptions were completely incorrect — homemade Angel Food Cake can be SO easy to prepare, and my no-fail recipe is genuinely fantastic. With a few simple techniques and tactics, you can make a No Fail Homemade Angel Food Cake that will be a delicious summer treat to add to your baking arsenal! Instead of using a boxed Angel Food Cake mix, follow these simple instructions to ensure that your homemade Angel Food Cake turns out flawlessly, just like mine! DON’T USE GREASE TO COOK IN! Use a 10-inch fluted aluminum tube pan (also known as an Angel Food Cake pan) and pour the batter directly into it – no need to grease the pan first. In this case, greased pans would prevent the cake from rising up in the oven since there would be nothing for the batter to adhere to during baking. Do not fear, removing the cake with a tiny knife or offset spatula is simple
    • just be sure you whip those egg whites! This recipe calls for 12 egg whites, which is a lot! Whip them till they are as firm as you can manage, and don’t forget to add the cream of tartar at the end. The egg whites are more stable as a result of this. This is something that my favorite Kitchen Aid Mixer performs really well – check it out HERE (affiliate link)
    • SIFTING your dry ingredients twice or three times is highly recommended! It is important that everything you add to the beaten egg whites is as mild as possible in order to maintain the volume of the batter consistent. There will be no clumps here
    • instead, FOLD using a whisk! When folding in the dry ingredients into the beaten egg whites, use a whisk to ensure that the mixture maintains its volume. Be gentle when adding the dry ingredients, alternating between 3-5 additions to ensure the maximum volume is achieved.
    • Allow plenty of air to circulate while cooling it upside-down! If you slice the cake using a serrated knife, you may ensure that the cake maintains its height and does not fall as it cools. As soon as it’s ready to serve, cut the cake into slices with your favorite serrated or bread knife. Using this method, you may cut through the cake with minimal effort while maintaining the maximum height feasible.

As a result of my decision to quit using boxed cake mixes for my Angel Food Cakes, this No Fail Homemade Angel Food Cake recipe has quickly become one of my favorite go-to recipes. It’s simply fantastic, and it’s considerably tastier and more visually appealing than anything I’ve ever made from a box before. And, to be really honest, it isn’t all that much more difficult to prepare! For this recipe, you will need a fantastic Angel Food Cake pan.

Basic, it performs flawlessly every time, it is simple to clean, and it will not break the money! –
    • 325 degrees Fahrenheit is the recommended temperature for the oven.
    • A large mixing basin should be used to precisely measure the flour, cornstarch, and 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar. Using a wire whisk, combine the ingredients.
    • Pour the flour mixture into another large mixing bowl using a fine sieve or flour sifter to ensure that all of the flour is included. Sift the flour mixture back into the first bowl, then back into the second bowl (you’ll be sifting the mixture three times total). Remove from consideration
    • Place the egg whites in a large mixing bowl or the bowl of your stand mixer fitted with the whisk attachment
    • whisk until stiff peaks form
    • set aside.
    • Whip on a medium speed until the mixture becomes frothy. Combine the cream of tartar and salt in a mixing bowl.
    • Using high-speed whipping, continue whipping until soft peaks appear
    • While continuing to whip on medium-high speed, carefully add the 3/4 cup powdered sugar, about 2 teaspoons at a time, until it is thoroughly combined
    • continue to beat on medium-high speed.
    • In a separate bowl, whisk the egg whites on high speed until stiff peaks form, gradually adding the vanilla as you beat
    • Making use of a wire whisk, carefully fold in approximately 1/4 cup of the flour mixture at a time into the beaten egg whites, being careful not to deflate the egg whites in the process. This is a really important phase, so proceed with caution and patience
    • Pour the batter slowly into a 10-inch Angel Food Cake or Tube Pan that has not been oiled, and carefully level out the top of the cake.
    • 35-40 minutes at 325 degrees Fahrenheit, or until the top of the cake is golden brown and the cake springs back when you gently touch the top of the cake
    • Inverting the cake to cool (turning it upside down on a glass) will allow more air to circulate. It is important to chill the cake upside down with enough of circulation to ensure that it does not fall as it cools and that it retains its impressive height.
    • Before slicing and serving with fresh berries (or your favorite fruit sauce) and whipped cream, allow the cake to cool completely to room temperature (I let it sit for at least an hour).
