    2. I’ve noticed some significant variation across manufacturers, with some being a quarter inch too big or too tiny, but I still buy the cheapest ones, haha.
    3. I’m currently using the Bake Sense brand, and all of them are just a smidgeon too tiny, with the exception of the 6″, which is far too little, and is the same size as the cake!
    4. I get precisely what you’re saying, though.
    5. Applying the icing with the tip, making sure it is the same thickness all the way around, and then scraping it off at an even rate has been my method of choice.
    6. It is secured to the board by hanging over the edge all the way around and not sliding off.
    1. The added plus is that I don’t have to worry about covering an unsightly cardboard edge on my buttercream cakes.
    2. The disadvantage is that I will occasionally see that I have a half inch of icing on one side and just an eighth inch on the other!
